Some like eye candy graphics, some like realism.....

@ Arcilix  "I won't waste any more time here on GoldenBear's insular opinions though."

It is your ignorance not mine if you think Arcade Cars 1 or 2 is a simulation.  Sorry but you are in the wrong although you will never admit it.

Arcade Cars does not even have a tire deformation model.  What a joke!  Arcade Cars has shellac shiny roads even in dry weather.  What a joke!  Arcade Cars has pathetic AI.  What a joke.  The list is endless.  Arcade Cars has lots of content but the main difference between cars is the shape of the car, the handling all feels similiar.  What a joke!......

This is a ridiculously one dimensional way of thinking. By this stupid argument when a new simulation comes out that is far more authentic than anything that exists today then you will have to call rFactor2 an arcade game.

It would be nice if you did not get personal as you made big mistakes in your comment here as usual to me.  I own Race 07, Assetto Corsa and Raceroom Raceway as well as rFactor2.

You said I would knock any game when a new one comes out that is better, wrong again sir!  Race 07 is a very old game.  What you and DoGgz seem to have trouble grasping is why I detest Arcade Cars (both games).  They purport to be simulations which is where it clearly has missed the mark in both games.  It the devs were honest and called it simcade at best, there would be no issue.

BUT... whenever some confused person tries to say it is a sim, I step in and correct the individual.  Understand yet?  Sorry your comment about me was wrong too.  When will you guys learn you cannot derail my comments as I always back them up 100%?  It must be a weakness I am glad I do not suffer from.

Good day  Mark

GB, i think what you fail to grasp is the enjoyment factor of a particular game, Rfatctor would not appeal to me in a multiplayer sense because almost all rfactor players are serious sim racers, i am not. I like to dip in and out and still be competetive, PC2 allows me to do that.  And yes eye candy in a racing title is important, as it is in most games in 2018.  The only reason TGC 2 presents a challenge to JNPG is because it has much nicer visuals (apart from the course textures) The objects and water effects in TGC 2 are much better than PG's.  You are in the minority if you think differently.

Recent updates have really improved the driving of PC2. AI is a little bit better but still need work. Multiplayer is great. I’m morning much into career mode. Online championship is a great idea but interface is clunky at the moment

All about Assetto Corsa for me. I've tried others but the force feedback and car handling is sublime in AC and there's really no point in anything else because it doesn't match up. Forza and GT were a starting point for me when all I had was a controller. Now with the wheel, shifter, pedals and VR I couldn't go back to arcade racing.

Had an incredible race in a crazy Porsche 935/78 'Moby Dick' this evening and after coaxing the beast around Spa laughing as I passed people having accidents all over the place and I smuggly worked my way from 15th to 6th place only to run out of fuel 20yds before the finish line. :D

PC Specialist built i7-6700 CPU@3.40GHz, Nvidia GTX 1070, 16GB Ram, Oculus Rift, Corsair M65 Gaming Mouse.

Assetto Corsa was a full on sim in beta and before it went to consoles.  Now it is simcade at best same as Raceroom.  The grip levels are now far too high.

Really into F1 2017 now, its just great fun..just started season one in a mclaren.  I'm using the racing line for some tracks as im not quite used to them.  After decent finishes in melbourne, china and bahrain i have just finished Russia, great race that saw my engine slowly lose power and ran out of fuel on the 2nd last corner but managed to coast over the line, all this after snatching pole in one shot qualifying...really enjoyed it.

I've just purchased it. Great fun once you get to know the tracks.

I was ok with melbourne and bahrain, no race line needed.  China and Russia are still not committed to memory just yet, Spain next for me, no race line required there.  I absolutely love the RPG thing they have going on with managing upgrades and swapping out worn components, 4 races in and i'm already gambling on switching parts, you get 4 of each engine components that have to last a season, failure to stay in this figure results in grid penalties, its all so very interesting and fun.
