It still appears that the A.I. do not race each other, they just settle in behind one another, they really need to fix this, how damn difficult can it be.

JJ,

You can digitally download direct though Steam or you can buy the physical DVD box and install it (4 or 5 DVD's) that way and the game gives you a Steam key, so once installed it will be in your steam library and all updates and DLC will be done via Steam.

Slightly OT, but just got my copy of GT Sport for PS4 this morning. Finally GT comes to PS4.

If it has improved any on the closed beta I played earlier in the year I'm gonna be a happy bunny and know where my free time will be spent in the coming days.

Vrooooooooom!!

Absolutely Daz, please set up a GT sport topic. I've had it for a week on the PS4 Pro and I'm loving it to bits.

I'm basically on the missions at the mo, as the online is a pure shit-storm at times (as are most online racing games unfortunately).

I play Assetto Corsa DiRT Rally and  Forza Motorsport 7, there all good. But Forza Motorsport 7, is the most fun out of the lot. There is so much content, and with over 700 cars it never gets old.

How many of the 700+ cars do you think you'll end up driving?

I have probably drove 40-50 cars so far, but the game is more about collecting cars rather then driving them all. Many of the cars have to be bought, so the better you race the more money you make so forth and so on. Career mode is a big part of the game, to help keep people interested I would think. Assetto Corsa is what I would call a simulator, Forza is kind of between simulator and just a fun game anyone can play. Forza has the best controller support of any racing game I have played, so people that don't have racing wheels are not lost along the way.

Firstly, apologies digging up an old, long sleeping thread, lol.

Well  a few months after my previous post on the subject, GT Sport is still high on my game play list and I'm loving every minute. With a recent new DLC update just arriving on 23rd Dec and further add-ons coming in the New Year, the future looks good.

Completed all the Driving School, Mission Challenges and Circuit Experiences with gold trophies (would have liked quite a few to be a little harder, but hey-ho), about halfway through the recently added GT League mode, though the AI needs some TLC as can be very erratic and OTT at times. Online racing in public lobbies is still a crap-shoot, but the 'official' Sport mode is much better, as the games driver match-up system comes in to effect and does a damn fine job in placing you in fields of drivers with similar abilities, often resulting in great on track battles. Yous till get the odd nutters, but for the most part its all great fun.

Having recently downloaded the Playstation Share Factory (and realising it automatically records your most recent gameplay session of any game in the background while you play, which then allows you to save and share if you so desire) I gave it a go and managed to put together the following clip of one of my recent GT Sport online races in the road version of the Peugeot RCZ Rally Car (using the Share Factory in-built video editor)

So basically, I would say if you have a PS4, like driving games, then GT Sport is well worth you purchasing.

While downloading Forza 7 I checked out wheels. $350 for a mid-range!! Anyway I loaded up the game and thought I do a few laps with the XBox controller. No need for a wheel. The controller controls beautifully. Great fun. Good balance between arcade and sim.

Project Cars 1 and 2 are arcade racers.  rFactor2 if you want a proper sim.

Totally disagree, PC2 is closer to sim than it is arcade,  GTS would tick the arcade box not PC2

You both obviously have not played rFactor2 if you think Arcade Cars 2 is even close to being a sim.

This is a ridiculously one dimensional way of thinking. By this stupid argument when a new simulation comes out that is far more authentic than anything that exists today then you will have to call rFactor2 an arcade game.

RFactor is indeed more sim. but the margins are small here, PC2 is not even close to being arcade, i do not play any racing game on a daily basis and PC2 has the balance for me. Rfactor requires your full gaming attention just to be able to compete, and i'm not that hardcore.  PC2 looks a lot better, has way more cars and it's fun to play once you get your setups nailed down, because without applying a good setup, some cars are difficult to drive.  Now compare that to GTS where you can jump into any car and throw it around any track quite easily and you see what really constitutes arcade. I don't know why you seem to hate PC, do you even own it?

You need to keep adding the numbers to the games, DoGgz!

Rfactor 2 may be more sim, though the point we were making was that Project Cars 2 is not arcade, nothing more. As to the original rFactor, I played that an awful lot and that is definitely not more sim than Project Cars 2. Does that mean I should call rFactor an arcade game rather than a sim? Of course not. There are degrees of simulation, and these improve with time and effort.

And then there's the original Project Cars! I hated that after playing the demo, as the experience did feel very arcade to me. It took a lot of reviews and comments to convince me to even give Project Cars 2 a look. In the end it was watching a live stream by a guy who specialises in sim racing which included competitors who race cars in real life that finally convinced me to try it, and I'm so glad I did.

I won't waste any more time here on GoldenBear's insular opinions though.
