Raised Fringes?

Best Answer Mike Jones , 20 October 2016 - 11:08 AM

Exactly driller - the green, bunker fairway shapes etc need to be surrounded by a rough or semi rough shape like in the tutorial, maybe even both depending on the style of your course.

Ive been messing with the editor a lot today. I realize it's gonna take a long time to get proficient with it as it's a very powerful tool.  Its happened a couple times now that the fringe of my greens has been raised almost vertically like a tiny wall. Is there an easy go to fix for this?

Not getting this myself.  My layers are Green, Green fringe, Fairway, Fairway fringe, Rough semi. See 1st pic below:

then see it with the splines

Now, this is your problem. I think you are laying the green fringe directly onto the the base texture. see the pic below

Now the reason it's like this, i think and Mike can correct me on this, is because the textures are 0.15 height by default.

That's is where I was going wrong at first. I was laying the fairway, then thinking there is already rough as the base texture why lay more!...But you do need to lay semi rough and rough underneath. It looks sooooo much better.
