Water hazards no drop zone?

Best Answer Acrilix , 23 October 2016 - 03:16 PM

Looks like you have created more than 1 out of bounds area.

You can only have 1 for the entire course or the water drop doesn't work correctly.

Ok so I lost everything on my last course..... Oh well. So I started a new hole and made a water hazard. Following the tutorial and when I just played the hole I hit into the water hazard and had a drop ball 1100 yards away. Am I missing something? I then tried making it a lateral hazard and adding two start and end points. Made the hole again and played back into the water. Same thing and it gives me the play as it lies option in the middle of a pond? What am I missing?

Check if your water mesh is set to a water physics property. Click the water plane in hierarchy, then in inspector,  under mesh collider, beside material click the little cog wheel and choose water.

Well you were right I needed to change it to water. So I did that and hit into the water and no choice now to hit where it lies but there is no drop zone showing and it sent me 1300 yards from the hole? Anything else

Can you post a screen shot of the hazard lines?

I remember reading that elsewhere..

Obviously there are areas within a course rather than just the perimeter that could be out of bounds, what is the solution for those?

Either go without or "snake" it in.

so I have done this one large out of bounds around the whole course. hit into the water again and no change still shoots me out to the edge.I really thank you guys for helping. so I guess my next question would be.... when working with splines could a pencil and a brush spline cross? I know not to cross the pencil splines?

It's not a problem to cross normal splines with hazard splines.

I'm very surprised the OOB redraw didn't fix the issue - the obvious question is are you sure you loaded the correct course up once you have made the changes?
