Bunker inconsistent display

Best Answer Mike Jones , 09 November 2016 - 01:34 AM

Hi John and thanks for this. The default library in the tuition course is set to read only. I saved it as and re-named it then created fairway fringes.

Now, following your advice, I re-loaded the default library which fixed the bunker issue but I lost my fringes. Re-loaded my custom library and it looks like this.

customlibrary_zpsaniym8ci.jpg

I click on texture 2 in the middle column which highlights BunkerSandRake in the project list. I click on that file and see the inspector panel which wqas set to texture. One of the options there is "Normal map". If I choose that the bunkers are still displaying incorrectly.

Click on the blue texture in your layers library and then look in the inspector, change it from 'texture' to normal - job done.

Seems to be a common problem for me. I see this in Unity.

And the same bunker in game.

Are you using the standard or a custom layers library.

I had this exact issue here: http://www.perfectpa...ers/?hl=shadowy

Don't change the Texture 2 swatch to a normal. Leave that at Texture. Click the Normal Map 2 texture (bottom right, bluish/purple), should be bunker rakesand_NRM or something. Change that as described in the previous post by John to a normal map.

Did what DPR and Mike suggested and it did indeed fix the issue so thanks. Only thing is that when the ball lands in a bunker it shows it as being in the fairway.

In the layers library, choose your bunker layer and in the far right top box of the library screen (I believe), there is a box that says what physics are applied to your layer. I suspect your bunker layer says "fairway". Click the little circle and choose "bunker" from the menu. Then recalculate your splines.

If you mean in this pic, the mesh type is sand, no "bunker" option.

Correct "sand" not "bunker". If it was already selected as sand and is not working, it's above my pay grade to answer.

Probably a video showing the incorrect lie in the bunker might shed some light on reasons it could happen. Personally I've never seen it unless you have a cloned bunker layer with the physic type set to fairway on some of your holes. Perhaps a screenshot of your layer lists as well will help.

I guess you mean something different from the images already posted. Not sure what layer lists are. Also no idea what a cloned bunker layer is.

Seems to have corrected itself for some reason. If the problem returns I'll post again.
