Wrong build platform?
Best Answer Mike Jones , 14 November 2016 - 09:24 AM
I now have this showing up from a save..anyone know what this is...Seriously ..this is the 6th course in a row i've lost due to something like this or another happening,,Something got to be wrong for this many errors.....CourseForge failed to load on the current build platform 14 Nov 16:11:36UnityEngine.Debug:LogWarning(Object)PerfectParallel.CourseForge.UI.MainToolUI:EnablePerform() (at Assets/Perfect Parallel/Course Forge/Scripts/Editor/UI/MainToolUI.cs:198)
The error message you have can only come from when the build platform is wrong and the only way this can happen is if you abort a course build halfway through or Unity crashes probably due to insufficient computer specification to run it. The solution has been posted in other threads here. Having used CF for years actually and watched other people make dozens upon dozens of courses successfully there is a high chance that it's user error on your part.
Perhaps the instructions are not followed correctly or you otherwise step outside the workflow by doing things not explained or shown in the tutorials.
It's all part of the learning process but I'm just being honest with you. Back to the problem at hand which has been in the Q&A's before, go to Unity menu - file/build settings, select pc mac standalone and hit the switch platform button.

Mike i dont think its my comp. i5 with 8 gig ram nvidia 660 gtx..and this happened on the 1st hole..so it's got me what happened...in the file build settings its already on pc /mac.....target platform ..windows....Architecture..x86...so i presume thats all in order..There is nothing in the box above which says Scenes in build....and i cant see what i would be doing outside the tutorials..Sometime it wont let me navigate with the WASD buttons, so i save as then exit and restart unity and all is good....On this instance i made the greens, tees ,fairway incased it all in semi rough..put it a few trees when this happened..I have no idea what i could be doing outside the tutorials that would make it do this.

Can you post a screenshot of the unity window with your course loaded and CF turned on?

I'm not sure if this could be the problem...say i build a bunker..i click on the bunker splines to make it not the outside spline eg..semi rough, does this make a difference ?

Do you mean, change the bunker spline into a semirough spline? So that it's not a bunker anymore? That would not cause the error in your OP.

The only scenario where CF would fail to load with the error message you posted is that if your Unity project was set the wrong build platform as mentioned in your OP. If that is not the case then I'm afraid I cannot help you. Perhaps posting a screenshot as Crow suggested might help.

Ok, Unity version 5.2.3?
Is that red spline around the Fairway, Fairway Fringe?
At what point does that error show up? When you try to build?

Well i've almost completed the course without any mishaps this time !!!!! The only thing i can think of i was doing wrong was saving over and over with the one save and not saving every time . this does make a difference as i think Mike pointed out in a previous post...
