Flickering

Best Answer Dazmaniac , 19 November 2016 - 11:03 PM

Looking at the pic, the issue is either with the rough spline or the tee boxes.

I've had a similar issue in the past and it ended up being a control point in my tee box shape sat on top of another one. Removed the rogue control point, refreshed and redrew splines and all was well.

You either have splines overlapping or a control point on top of another.

I have the same problem. I only have one green one fairway and a large deep rough area. the more I add it seems the worse it gets. with one green one fairway up close was good. pan away from the scene, and it flickers. Ihave three courses going and all have this flicking. even a even course that is flat.

Be careful, what you see in the editor and what you see in the game are not always exactly the same as the editor usually runs lower quality. Make a buld and test in game would be my suggestion.

If the flickering is all over you may be seeing Z-Fighting

a Unity bug and something we all see from time to time.

If it is a control point crossed or touching another spline

that needs to be corrected.

First a bad mesh, and then Z-Fighting

If you hold down the Shift key you can see where the individual meshes extend to, which is further than the spline indicates. You can then see if any of the meshes overlap.

PG has it's own camera settings so changing them in unity will make no difference to the way it looks in PG. You can waste a lot of time in Unity by just guessing and trying different things to fix a problem that may not actually exist in game - best to load it in game and see how it looks.

Well Mike, I saw while watching your video on compiling a course to play, that there was flicking in the video. that's what I see, and it appears to be a common thing. So I'm off to new issues.  thanks Tim
