JNPG and SkyTrak - Shots not even close to correct

JNPG SkyTrak Frustrated

Best Answer zmax - sim , 17 December 2017 - 12:08 AM

There are a lot of Skytrak users playing OGT JNPG Simulator Tour for over 2 yeas now and do not have these issues.  Join OGT Discord chat and maybe other Skytrak users can help.

Prior to purchasing my SkyTrak w/ JNPG I did a lot of reasearch and watched a ton of YouTube videos. It seems that my unit is not working properly with JNPG. It works just fine with the SkyTrak software, but when it comes to JNPG it's not even close.

I first noticed that all of my shots were registering about 45 degrees to the left of center (I'm right handed). Some of the shots, if hit in real life, would probably hit me in my left leg. That was yesterday. This morning I tried again and it is better, but still not even close to accurate. There is definitely a left bias with every shot. I've even physically turned my SkyTrak to try and compensate, which helps with the initial ball flight off the face, but now every shot is a MONSTER hook even when it is showing a square shot at impact.

Just a while ago I had a 66 yd sand wedge shot (from left  of the green, of course). Took a normal 70 yd swing, hit it clean, and the ball traveled 496 YARDS BACKWARDS!!!! That's not a typo. 496 yards....backwards....I even saved the shot because of the sheer ridiculousness.

What am I doing wrong? I can't imagine it's the SkyTrak as it works well with the OEM software (despite being somewhat short compared to my IRL yardages)

I've had this setup for just over 24 hours now and am beyond frustrated with JNPG. It works NOTHING like what I saw in the YouTube videos.

Any advice, help, tips would be greatly appreciated. If this is what to expect from JNPG, I will be seeking a full refund.

SkyTrak is like a fussy woman, but once you work her out, she gives a very good experience for the money. It is rare someone has it working well out-of-the-box, and also rare there's an issue with the actual unit. There are things to understand with regard to JNPG: e.g. it (misleadingly) shows zeroes for club data (SkyTrak of course only measures ball data) - so your square impact isn't as you were led to think.

Agree on joining the chat - there hasn't been someone we haven't got going yet and soon you'll be loving it. You'll also find a big list of things to ensure in the SkyTrak section (that I've just noticed Burner pasted my big list without referencing the author) but feel free to ask further questions there and I'll try help out as will others - live text chat makes it much easier.

I purchased the JNPG this week. I too have noticed a left bias to my shots. Also the longer clubs go much shorter than they normally do whereas the wedges are very close to normal distances. Playing any of the JNPG courses  is almost impossible due to the disparity in the distances with the longer clubs. I am forced to lay up in the fairway off the tee every time because of this discrepency. I am using the Skytrak launch monitor with the JNPG. Before looking into another simulator that would work with Skytrak can anyone help me with these issues? The you tube videos that I watched before purchasing JNPG never hinted at these problems The graphics in the JNPG are quite good and I would prefer to stay with PG if feasible

If you have a look at the SimConsole app (Alt-TAB to it or have it constantly up on a separate display) - you'll likely notice that the values shown coming straight from SkyTrak have the issues you're seeing.  This is before JNPG has even got hold of the data. You can try plugging that data into https://flightscope....tory-optimizer/ and see the JNPG is not wrecking the data.

Just about every new simulator player goes through what you're going through. The videos you see showing no problems are because all but the most impatient work it out after a few weeks. There are many, many things SkyTrak likes to be in order - best come to the live text chat at https://discordapp.com/invite/veTtjdU where many will be able to help you efficiently.

The current #2 in NET OGT Simulator tour standings is a Skytrak user. So, the Skytrak with JNPG can be a great simulator. But as Shimonko posted, a lot of things can affect the Skytraks cameras. Come to discord chat for assistance.
