You should be able to just go in the folder, go to assets. Once in the asset folder double-click on the unity scene. It should launch unity and then load the course.

I get the Unity UI and under the Projects tab the course isn't listed so i'm back where I started from. If I try and create a new project with the same name I get told that a project with that name already exists which is where I came in.

Try this:
Double click on your Unity icon.
Click on open.
Navigate to the Project so you can see the Assets folder for the project you want to open and single click on Assets.
Choose Select Folder.
Does this open your project?

Here's a screenshot of a standard Unity Assets folder with a course started. Except for the google image, anything stand out as different from what you have?

You don't need to go as far as the assets folder just go to the actual project folder....
- Open Unity
- File Menu-Open Project
- Top right of the window that opens is 'Open Project'
- Navigate to where your Projects are stored
- Double click the project you want to open
- You should then see the assets folder in the Project window
- Double click the Unity Scene
Hope this helps

Yep. it doesn't show ant scene files.
I tried this on an existing project that does display in the Unity UI project list and the assets folder doesn't contain any scen files either.

Hi guys. Unfortunately I broke a bone near my ankle yesterday. Got patched up in A&E today. Loos like 6 weeks in plaster.
Will have to forego this topic for a while but thanks for the suggestions.

A bit more mobile so here is what I see.
Completely outside of Unity I browse to a sonora course folder and see this. The scene files are there but if I click on a scene file I get "Selected folder is not a Unity project.".
If I go into the Unity UI and choose open project I navigate to the same folder but there are no scene files.

Like I said... You are going to deep...You need to select the 'Sonora Desert' Folder and then click 'Select Folder' and it should open the Project Then you select the Scene
