BEAST setup there Sam!
You finding the 1080ti to 2080ti worth the nearly doubling in cost?
I have a 8700 + 1080ti right now - mainly curious - not really in the market as this is a dual boot hackintosh and I need to stay on 1000 series cards for that right now.
Well the 2080Ti Hybrid was $1400 but sold my 2 yr old 1080ti Hybrid for $600 so it wasn't too bad. I only went for the 2080ti as I had a buyer for the 1080ti (a friend at work) waiting to get it.
performance-wise I get 20-40 FPS more in PG, depending on the course being played. About the same performance boost in most games. I find in Linux that even though it looks just as good the card doesn't seem to be as taxed as under Windows. Under Windows both the CPU and GPU liquid coolers throw off more heat when playing games but don't under either distro of Linux.
