I play Links2003 daily.
But of late I have been also golfing in my back yard.

And as of yesterday, I added this to my basement.

I just had to because I wanted to play some PC golf, but the game is just not refreshing anymore. I feel myself trying to enjoy the game rather than it just happening
Try some of the new swing types such as RTS and PowerStroke. That will give the game some new play.

Looks like a classic man cave. I like the Hamm's bear, but where is the ball washer you got signed at the 3M championship?
I think the snow is starting to let up!

It's over on the "clubhouse" side of the family room.

For washing your balls in the man cave?
Goodness no. Wouldn't want the names of the 13 seniors to come off. It just sits there in its place of honor.

Grrrr .... so, being a bit bored with all the waiting like most of you, I see my copy of TW08 sitting on the shelf where it has been for years. I decide to install. It seemed to take quite a long time to install compared to other, more modern games, and a lot longer compared to Links 2003. Anyway, finally installed and fired it up ..... it does not work on W8!!! The error message advised me to upgrade to W98!!! LOL I suppose no one has found a way to make it work on W8?

This may be some interesting reading Perculator, may not solve your problem but might give you an explaination. I think some folks do have it running on Win8 but if you follow the link and scroll down to the last post, could give you a clue...
Sorry, here is the link: http://www.coursedow...s.asp?post=9343

Windows 98? Hopefully, with 90 more tries they can finally make it as well as they did XP and W7.

I remember getting this to upgrade my version of Win 95 back in 1998. Oh the days. Needing a DX2/66 to make it worth your while, lol.

A DX2/66... one of my first pc's ! Great recollection... and then I moved onto a Pentium 90 and spent around £900 on it... still remember it, because it went wrong after 2-3 weeks, the hard drive became independant, and thought it could do things on it's own... bless it. In those days AI was still in it's infancy..
Now... anyone recall the difference between the SX and DX PC's without googling it...?

Daz, I remember Windows98 very well. Was a good upgrade to Windows95. In fact, I remember buying a DX2/66 80486 processor with math co-processor mostly to allow me to play http://en.wikipedia....–_A_Final_Unity but that was back in the DOS days and Windows 3.1
I remember being amazed by Microsoft Golf.

Math co-processor. My first computer was an Acer 486 SX 33 with 4mb of RAM and a 210MB hard drive. Bought it because it had a CD drive which came with Microsoft Golf, the Windows version of Access Links 386. I upgraded it many times. 486DX4 100 processor which was not completely compatible so downsized it to the DX2/66, 16MB of RAM, added a second 540MB hard drive, upgraded from a 9600 to 14400 baud modem. Learned how to make my on .bat files to play different games because of their memory needs.
Amazing all we had to do to get things to work back then.

Only playing WGT right now.... though I stopped playing that for awhile as I get really sick and tired of the massive amounts of adds that pleague that game... its all over the site and in the game and constantly having to pay real money for stuff unless you get extremely lucky in a tournament. Their pricing for stuff like Balls, is more expensive then buying balls in real life down at walmart. I play it still though because its seriously the absolutely only real golf game left on the PC, everything else is complete trash!! and there isn't that many golf games out on PC as it is anyway...
