Yeah that's right.

 

Your posted score gives you a score to beat. So I'll concentrate on Illinois for a while for example. I like to go out for a long practice round to sort out some things - re-hitting shots etc. Then I'll start my round proper and have a crack at the score. You can generally stay within a few shots and fight it out to the 18th. Occasionally everything falls into place and you'll get a glower.

Florida Gladws - calm, normal, 10 stimp, med pins

70 (-2) - birdies at 2 and 4;  bogies none.

FIR=36     GIR=67   pph=1.56 (28 total)

Seemed like I hit more than 36% fairways. After hole #4 had equal par save putts and near miss birdies putts to the end.

Improved previous score by 4 stokes.

What a great battle against myself. Even par after 12 but a double at 13 stopped a good run. A bogey at 18 but still managed to move a further shot under par on the leaderboard.

Black Swan: +1 (73) MS, BLI, 1.67 PPG, 71% FIR. Have to say that Black Swan is quite a tough course....but very enjoyable. So big thx to Kablammo!

Crystal Pines: -1 (70) MS, BLI, 1.50 PPH, 36% FIR. Didn't drive the ball well but my short game saved me. Still really hate chipping at the moment and I feel too many putts are simply rolling over the hole or edge.

Calm, normal, 10, BLI, MS, PRO, flagless putting meter.

Had to putt from off the green on the last to save par after hitting my second shot straight into a bank. Fortunately it was a 16ft putt that was dead straight and 12" uphill so I tonked it about 30ft power (9 o'clock on the meter) and that was just enough to allow for the 2 ft of fringe grass and the slope to drop in. Very satisfying feeling.

Now to improve on those scores...

Crystal Pines MS BLI med pins calm stimp 10 shot 72. +1. Played with min G and Max G and Min shot 68 and Max shot 64. Under my new scoring format for my own piece of mind Pro shot a 69 as he gets -3 and min was the same at 68 as he gets 0 and Max shot 70 as he is +6. Sounds weird I know but what I have come up with is a standard handicap for all levels that doesn't change. In looking at scores from other events there appears to be a 9 stroke difference per round between Max and Pro and 6 strokes between min and Max. Now I didn't mention Mod as its really the same as Max. Now I know this is off subject but I find playing with three guys of different level has made my Pro score better and the stroke differential has made me grind more for a score at Pro but also been quite the fun competition as you get to have some fun at the Max level and given me an idea for future compitition. Just some for thought.

66 (-6) - birdies at 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, and 15;  bogies none (second straight round).

FIR=57     GIR=72   pph=1.39 (25 total)

Hit the ball real well with the wide fairways. Nice flat greens were the key to the birdies.

Best hole was a par save on #16 (very, very, long par 5) from about 18 ft (after the lone bad t-shot).
