As usual, K11 has made excellent suggestions for the game.  I don't know if PP are going to implement these (although MJ's vote is encouraging).  My thought for a "purist" mode would be to show the meter only as a golfer would see the clubhead - i.e., show the take-away and then hide the meter for the remainder of the backswing.  A golfer doesn't know or see where the backswing ends and the downswing begins - it is felt.  I don't know how reasonable that would be for a golf game, but the timing/feel of where the backswing would end may add a whole new/real way of swinging a club for a PC/console game.

PP will have to be careful that by adding real life constraints of golf may result in real life scores in the 80s, 90s, 100s, etc., and many may drop the game as it's simply too hard.  :)

That will probably be taken care of by any mouse swing implementation ;)

Thank you. Just a quick reminder: this is not a democracy - like any computer game it's a dev-tatorship. My designs are basic sketches, there is no expectation on my part that they should affect the work of the Devs and I will not be cross if they decide to go in a different direction.

To my knowledge, the "John Daly Pro Stroke" golf game for PS3 has done that. As you prepare to hit a shot, you are actually looking down to your feet and at the golf ball in your address position. As you swing, the club head disappears from view. More here: http://www.gamespot.com/john-dalys-prostroke-golf/

It could happen here, too. Not right away at release, but further down the road (maybe)

You realize that all it takes for 100% perfect accuracy with a meter is a mouse recorder right? It's just as easy to cheat the click as it is to edge with a mouse swing. I've always found mouse swings to me more challenging imo.

Kablammo has it right with the John Daly golf game. I had Pro Stroke on the original Xbox and it was the same concept, eyes down at the ball and you can see and adjust the stance. This game also had a really innovative dual analog swing where one analog stick controls weight shifting and the other controls your club path. It also included the option to open or close your clubface.

Regarding Mouse Recorder programs.. surely they are not as widespread or open to abuse as you suggest..?

And for a total little-tecchy understanding, if the mouse recorder program generated .mrs files and the PG game recognised a .mrs file was opening - could it not simply ignore or crash by design ?

FFS, clickers using mouse recorders!!! Sounds like Mr Spikel could be speaking from experience, lol.

A game will never be a real golf experience. If some1 wants to cheat he will find ways. I think it's almost impossible to prevent cheating in a game. But I sure hope that PP will find a way to make it as hard as possible for cheaters :)

Thank you for the little video with some good shots but how we could measure out the power in the shots? do we have a ruler (something like that) inside our swing meter to measure the power?

well done, good things to see in here, i'm really glad !
