As usual, K11 has made excellent suggestions for the game. I don't know if PP are going to implement these (although MJ's vote is encouraging). My thought for a "purist" mode would be to show the meter only as a golfer would see the clubhead - i.e., show the take-away and then hide the meter for the remainder of the backswing. A golfer doesn't know or see where the backswing ends and the downswing begins - it is felt. I don't know how reasonable that would be for a golf game, but the timing/feel of where the backswing would end may add a whole new/real way of swinging a club for a PC/console game.
PP will have to be careful that by adding real life constraints of golf may result in real life scores in the 80s, 90s, 100s, etc., and many may drop the game as it's simply too hard.
