Sully, personally, I think you need to try Unity a little more. As the CF is kind of an asset of Unity, you'll do well persevering more with how Unity works and the basics regarding creating a terrain and manipulating it. If you are able to add textures and paint some areas, plant some areas and begin those approaches to what is simply creating a world... it will set you up nicely for understanding the improvements the CF will make. However, you will still need to use Unity quite alot...

To be honest Ian, I am struggling to get my head around Unity at the moment. I can just about navigate round it, but as to creating a terrain, it's all just Greek at the moment.

No problem... it's what I suspect a few are finding at this moment in time.

 

I honestly do recommend watching a few tutorial videos.. I tried a couple at UDemy, the 2 free ones, and since then have found it quite easy in creating the terrain and doing what I want with it. If this link helps you to view it, take the few minutes to watch and familiarise yourself with the layout..

Thanks Ian.  If you should hear an explosion from the north, it will be my head exploding.  Learning this and getting to grips with Office 2010 at work may just be too much

The only major differences with Office 2010 are the ribbons across the top replacing the old drop down menus. If you used Office 2007 it's more of the same, but I guess if you're coming from anything earlier, it will seem a little alien.

Used 2003 at work for ages.  Have used Word 2010 at home a little, but it's more difficult as you get older

Quite amazing actually. Apart from some of Rory's shots a few years back, it was the first time I'd really got a good feel for the whole estate at Augusta. All the cabins were very nicely modeled, even the statue of Bobby Jones. I was impressed with many of the trees and flowers as well. Thanks for pointing it out.
