I got my first round in today using RTS-C, which I'm not quite ready for primetime with in Amateur difficulty with yet.  I scared myself a bit early on when I was -2 after 8 holes.  I've only broken par 3 times in Hacker difficulty with my XBox 360 controller.  After I pinched myself, I came back to reality, playing the final 10 holes in 14 over par.  What killed me was the putting... when I start getting the "sticky putter" syndrome in anything above Hacker with RTS-C... my pulled putts are laughably bad.  I four putted one green from 14 feet, after sticking my approach, each time pulling the putt a whopping 3 to 4 feet left of the hole.

This was a blast though... I was watching OCT's live, hole-by-hole updated leaderboard and it was right on track.  It's wonderful to see an API this powerful this early in the game's life!

Yup, PG's API is very powerful.   You had the OGT leaderboard set to auto refresh I take it?  We also send the same leaderboard data back to the in-game leaderboard, which you can see by clicking on the little leaderboard icon on the right side.

Btw, thanks for mentioning OGT in your Steam review.

I did indeed have my leaderboard set to auto-refresh and it worked great.  I just wish my play was up to the performance of this API.  I'm surprised the tournament officials didn't escort me off the course after I "9-putted" the second hole from 29 inches in the second round!?

I was glad to do the Steam review and give a shout out to OGT for your role in the Perfect Golf experience!

This.

Trust me - Pop this onto to Tour Pro and you won't see me anywhere in a "top of the leaderboard" screenshot...  :-)

Frank Am is pretty easy but its quite a jump to Pro.  I have been as low as 65 at Am but best at Pro is 75 and right now have no control at all off the tee other than my Power Fade which sometimes goes to another county.  Really just trying to find a grove before I start round 1 at OGT Florida as there is a lot of water there and it could be hairy.  I seemed at AM level to be able to do whatever I wanted with the ball and could hit any shot but at Pro its just a different game and I am now seeing what all have been talking about.  My goal for this weeks event is to just keep it under 80 as that course is not one of my better places to score and is more setup for a draw and my Power Fade could be in trouble.  I might have to bring two coolers for Leonard as he is quite weary right now.  Lol.

I hit that same dang power fade with RTSM as well.  The only way I can combat it is to literally move the mouse in an exaggerated way as if I'm attempting to hook it.  But then I just yank it straight left.  Haven't quite found my tempo on a consistent basis yet.

I have time for 4 rounds a week, not more. I skipped the last event after seeing the very low scores and tried the Tour Pro tournament (and got humilated yesterday in my third round). But this week i might give the RTS Tour the nod. I have practiced and played in Tour Pro mode only so far - so i am curious how differently it will feel playing Pro.

On the other hand ....  this weeks Tour Pro event is at Downland and i really, really like that course. Decisions, decisions .....  :D .

Same here Mebby as if it works right it's good but as you stated it can be yanked way left also. I tried adjusting my sensitivity but not much different either. I will just keep working and hope not to be a total basket case out there.

Oddly enough I had early success with RTSM but I've since lost it.  I can go a stretch of 3-4 holes where everything feels great and then out of nowhere I totally lose my tempo!  I think part of my problem is that I keep adjusting my DPI and Sensitivity settings hoping to find the holy grail where I just need to pick one setting and stick with it until I find my groove.

This, Mebby. Yesterday i tried a new setting and was hitting it like a machine on the range. Bingo, i thought. Au contraire  ;) . The wheels came off on the course at Nautilus. I couldn't make two good swings in a row, lost my confidence and then my scrambling and putting went down as well.

Back to the drawing board - or maybe better not.

I think TP is where I will end up eventually but right now Pro level seems about right.  I play much better alone where I can get in a groove and hit the shots faster.  But I have much more fun playing online with my friends.  I have played most every night with a group of friends from OGT and it is a blast.  Mixed swing types, mixed difficulty levels, lots of experimenting, and loads of fun!

I'm going to have to settle for "Hacker" with my XBox 360 controller, or "Pro" with the Playstation 4 controller.  I'm actually slightly better with the Playstation 4 controller in Pro, so I'm leaning that way, even though I don't feel as comfortable with it due to its lack of the asymmetrical geometry of the XBox 360 controller.  Maybe it will grow on me, I just have to give it a chance.

I shot a 125 last night in a Tour Pro Tournament at Karen in Tour Pro with the XBox 360 controller.  Did not hit one fairway or green in regulation. Ten tee shots were either OB or in the hazard.  I had one hole where I put my first three tee shots OB, and then when I finally managed to hit one inside the stakes (barely), my approach shot found the Hazard.  I wound up taking a 15 on the hole.  This was humiliation deluxe, but it's all behind me now :)   I won't be dabbling in Tour Pro play anymore with an XBox 360 controller!

I just played the first round at OGT Florida and was going along pretty good and then all of sudden at number 14 I started to hit everything right and went from +1 to +8 for an 80 just like that.  Man this RTSM will grab you real quick out there and it mirrors how it happens in real life where you are going along good and bam it hits you and you cant stop the slide.  Going to be a long learning experiance with this new swing method.

Well I went to the course for some practice and hit everything dead right and nothing I did mattered and short of breaking my mouse I quit and go to the Practice range and guess what everything still went dead right.  I tried everything and had to hit 50 balls and no matter I would swing they are all going right and this is at Pro level RTSM.  Sorry but this is starting to get like work and a video game is not supposed to be work to the point that you are exhausted from trying to hit just one straight ball.  What I dont get is how you can hit the ball pretty good for awhile and then all of a sudden you hit every shot sideways and that is frustrating.  What was more frustrating is that I figured I would take a bread and go play the OGT PGA Pro event at my old MS and I was clueless as I have lost that swing so back to the range and after about 15 minutes I returned to the field of combat and went to Braden Dunes and played pretty good but the moral is it will screw your other swing up so you really have to learn one swing and stick with it.  So my question to myself is where do I play and what level and what swing and right now I am leaning going bact to TP and using MS as it is the most fun for me.  A video game is just that a game and its meant to sit down and enjoy and to relieve some stress from the work day or whatever and if its not fun its not really any good.  So for me I guess for the time being I am going to play with all you 3C and MS guys out there and have some fun and just fiddle with the RTSM as right now I just think its real penalizing to the right way to much.  Just my two cents.
