I have yet to see this HOOK on MS swing I have noticed that I have a little push to the right at times but nothing drastic and have now played two rounds but again no hook at all. Most of the time with my MS swing the reason for left or right is to fast in follow thru will result in pull and to slow will result in push. I still view the MS swing as the best swing for having a built in Anti Cheat as it is purely a timing swing and if the timing is not there the shot isnt either.

It seems that every controller I use (XB360, XB1, DS4) all show up as Xinput Device. Seems odd to me seeing as how they all showed up appropriately before.
XB1 controller doesn't work properly when using Steam In-Home streaming (XB360 and DS4 work fine). I've reported this separately.
This was to address the issues with the Win 10 Anniversary update that borked all controllers using the Win 10 Update. Seems that the Xinput driver was the culprit and as soon as MS releases an update for it, Andrew and Team will likely have to revert back to the previous Xinput functionality and then I think the proper controller names will show in -game.

I am not going to go into the specifics of how we implemented the anti cheat. However we have added a debug log to the output_log.txt which says if the anti cheat has been activated. No other changes were made to any of the swings in this build.
I will reiterate that we have no intention of handicapping players who are not cheating. If anyone feels that the anti cheat is kicking in when they are playing legitimately we will investigate immediately and if necessary make changes to prevent this happening. Anyone in this boat should feel free to PM me and attach their output log and it will be investigated promptly and privately.
One other thing we noticed while playing online is setting the DPI so that a 100% swing is at the bottom of the screen can have some very terrible implications for motion swing. Please make sure that when using motion swing you keep your whole swing on the screen, otherwise the offset calculation will be incorrect. We are investigating this issue further.

I know this is crazy, but if I wanted to test this anti-cheat system just to see if it works and what it does, would it have a lasting effect? Curious is all.

No, go ahead and test away on the range. Report your findings.

Yeah the RTS-M is off now. Didn't change any of my settings now the same motion that gave me reasonably straight-to slight draw is like plying Tour pro now- all over the place. Also putting seems way off-too much power now on backstroke, way underpowered on follow through. Was NOT this way before patch. Just when I was starting to like this game too. Back on the shelf it goes.

I've experienced it in MS and RTMS. The only way i could get the anti cheat to kick in was attaining a series of perfect shots in pro mode and then seem to get a random hook or slice after that. This was on the driving range and swing after swing when you can get in a good rhythm. In Tour Pro mode I've not achieved this yet. I don't think this will affect my play, but if it does I'll consider myself lucky to achieve a good series of swings in a row. ![]()

I'm very glad to see some effort being made to combat cheating. I'm hoping that it doesn't yield any wonky results for those that are playing with legit controllers and no sort of funny business. If I got to the range and hit 25 shot I'd say about 7 or 8 of those would be on plane using RTSC on TP level. I tend to have a fairly consistent swing but it's not beyond me to flat out shank a few here and there and I always have at least 1 or 2 of those per rounds it seems. The odd thing for me is that this is much more likely to happen with my irons than it is with my driver or any wood for that matter.

Played a few holes this morning with MS...did not notice any difference in play. That being said, I've yet to break par on Pro mode with MS, but getting closer. I do not over-swing...the penalty is too severe for me...
As for cheating on MS with edging...never entered my mind. Love the challenge of trying to keep my focus and tempo for 18 holes. Just like IRL...focus and tempo through 18 is always my goal. Can't do that either IRL. Guess that's why my scores IRL are similar to my play with MS on Pro. ![]()

output_log.txt - is this something that help me or is this a dev thing and I take it it's in the PG folder? Andrew, where do I pm you if we're not friends?

Is this anti cheat being implemented mainly to make it more difficult to over swing and by increasing penalties keep it under control?

that'll be the anti cheat doing its job
Forgot to add this to my last post, so will make a separate post.
Would like to know what the devs definition of cheating is? Not sure it's a good idea to almost accuse people of cheating when they're playing they're normal game etc (almost apparent glee at that - get those cheaters out of here).

JTee the chances of me attaining a few perfect swings in a row is so remote I have a better chance of hitting the Power Ball Lottery than that happening. Lol.

I'm doing this on a tablet so thought I would respond copy/paste. Hope it makes sense. I plan on turning on computer and going on the range to see maybe what happened yesterday as I was really too miffed to delve into this. Maybe it's that term anti cheat when I wasn't cheating. I don't consider a little over swing cheating. I take my chances with our, sometimes it works and if I'm off I pay (but I try to do it safely - that's called course management and I believe I'm fairly good at it). The highest I go is 110%. Do it also to have ball sit down better etc. I want to go on range to see my cheating is being penalized some more (this is amateur btw).
We discovered that if your mouse dpi and/or in game sensitivities made it such that if your mouse cursor would go below the screen (it's still active, you just can't see it), it can cause some really bad swings. You can test this on the range, if you're not getting like, 115% I think it is, then your settings are letting the cursor go below the screen. This may be why you had some bad shots, I dunno.

I don't think they want to discuss how the anti cheat works or ways people have found to cheat. I'm pretty sure you're not.
I don't think PP has accused anyone of cheating, they're just trying to make it harder to cheat.
