Social players in groups all day long could care less about "true competition".  We have about 3 different categories of players. 1. Casual  2. Semi-Competitive 3. Then only have anti-cheat in a "tournament mode" option in the game that is used by those running a tourney.  You want to play in the tourney, you gotta use that mode or don't play in it.

anti cheat is not just for tournaments.it's for online play aswell

Yes so use that mode of play for online if you don't feel you can trust the people you're playing with.

My point in all this is that we are being told that something in the software is going to determine if cheating, using aids, etc is being done. So if I practice to the point I have a repeatable swing that gives me whatever it is that triggers the anti-cheat (x number of same swings, x number of same direction shots?) it's now the game making my shot go somewhere other than where I was hitting towards not any possible fault in that swing. Which because we don't know what triggers it, I am left to hit a shot out of the trees not knowing if I need to do something to my mouse swing or the game did it to me. So it seems logical to me that a anti-cheat mode could be made a game play option and those using it understand that an errant shot may not be their swing, just the game getting triggered for the anti-cheat.

I have a Cronus Max, which I purchased two years ago to:

 

A.)  Use my Fanatec GT2 steering wheel with the XBox One.  A feat at which it fails miserably at.

B.)  Use XBox 360 and XB1 controllers with the PS4 in various golf games, since I suck with the Sony DS4 controllers in golf games when using the left thumbstick as the swing stick.

 

I later found that I could use the Cronus Max to remap the XBox controllers (of all stripes) right thumbstick to the left.  The calibration of the right thumbstick in Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf works great for me when it's applied to the left thumbstick via the controller remapping.  I do nothing to change the stick sensitivity, nor would I want to for gaming purposes.  I want to experience the game the way the designers intended, with the default controller sensitivity settings.

I can setup my trackball mouse to easily cheat (I won't go into any details, but it's very easy) and I can certainly report the anti-cheat works fine for that. It's not perfect, but it does work as intended. 

 

That said, I'd wait before accusing anyone of cheating because they are complaining about the change. I've also noticed that sometimes it seems I hit a normal swing and the ball sprays all over the place. Hard to say, using a trackball for RTS-M is very difficult sometimes to form a repeatable swing.

I never accused him of cheating. just a rhetorical question.  but I do not trust anyone who says they have the ability to cheat, but don't because they say so.

Same here, not sure who is on the beta test team, but how can this slip through the cracks?  Seriously?  Had to drop out on hole 17 of a MP game because this essentially froze me.  Please remove things that don't work.

That is very simple to answer: Most Multiplayer games in beta testing aren't real multiplayers. You play your round and use AI. We are from time zones all over the world. Most of us have at least one full time job and it is simply hard to really get a MP Round done with other testers. Also, if we could play MP Rounds once in a while, we have other mashines and setups so there still would be glitches which we wouldn't find.

Why would anyone hit the replay buton when there was no reason for it? I wouldn't, not even in a MP with one or more of the testers. This button is for a very special situation, not an every shot button...

For example clothes, shoes, clubs, skin color, hats, eye wear, face editor...

Has to.....  I had two serious duffs / pull hooks in my second round of the RTS tourney. The ball had such a big curve to the left .... never have seen that on a normal shot of mine. I made par on both occasions, but something isn't right with the anti-cheat for MS and RTS-M.

WOW calm down JC i was talking about you using the cronus for testing, you are a beta tester for this game?, The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

You mouse guys get far too much leeway in this game, looks to me like you can customise the mouse swing to suits your game? we can't do that with the controller? but we have to play in the same tournaments as you guys, for me you should have ONE SETTING for mouse, and everyone has to use that setting, NOT all this changing DPI AND OTHER STUFF for god sake guys.

That is probably the reason why only 3 or 4 RTS-M-players are playing on Tour pro at OGT. It's too easy because you can chance dpi settings! Now i've got it!!! What would we do without your wisdom and expertise!!

 

Look at the FIR stats and tell me that RTS-C guys have it much harder to hit it straight....
