Here is the facts of the matter.

1. How can a player be penalized for using a mouse that came with their computer.  Nope.

2. How can a player be penalized for buying a mouse for 9.99 from Walmart. Nope.

3. I buy a Logitech G-300 gaming mouse and should I be penalized.  Nope

4. Should a player who purchases a Logitech F310 Controller be penalized.  Nope.

Penalized - A player who has software that zeros out any X axes.  I do not care if the software came with the mouse or controller... zero X axes tweaks my fellow players is cheating.  Anyone using software programs that alter your mouse or controllers X axes is pure cheating.

Mouse software that the DPI can be adjusted is not cheating.  That is tuning how far the mouse moves forward and back to suit your swing.  Some players are comfortable with a longer swing and other players prefer a shorter swing.

in conclusion - It is what it is.  A witch hunt.     This is a video game and not all things can be equal as intended.  I can only worry about my conduct because I can control what I do. PG seems to be striving to make thing as equal as possible.  It is a work in progress.   This game and OGT Tour are about as fair as we can get.  Other 3rd party competition sites as also doing their level best to be fair.

We can beat this subject to death and nothing changes what it is.  Simple it is a impasse!

Yea.  The more I think about this idea the more I like it.

All we need now is someone from PP and/or OGT to chime in to discuss if it's even possible and if it is, would they be willing to do it?

Should be possible but the problem is all the data involved will be too much for OGT server to handle.  The payoff of catching the few cheaters is not enough to offset the server load and bandwidth for both OGT and PP servers.

@Dennis agree with all you say except for the witch hunt part PG was trying to stop the few but it affected all to many people. Built in mouse prediction is the culprit not any individual.

Folks what is playing a game all about? I played the first round of the RTS event with xbox360 controller at Amateur level and shot -3 and was happy as a lark. I was on the 12th hole of the PGA event and was -3 when I quit and left for the beach and was playing MS at Pro level and was happy as a lark. The only thing that matters is having fun and every round I play good or bad is immersive and tons of fun so the answer to my first line is have fun and don't worry about what cheating is going on as it will never go away.

I wish we could ban any topics with the word "cheat" in the title...

Online witch hunts are great, in person ones are better. This would not be a good golf game without a few lynch mobs at the ready. Looks like I can delay my pitchfork purchase.

I'm surprised by that. It would be a few bytes of data per swing. I realize X that by the amount of people playing, but I still think it's the best answer to deter cheating.

And I certainly understand the people who say "Who cares? Play and have fun." But when it comes to competition, then I want to be on a level playing field. Part of the fun (for me anyways) is seeing how I measure up. Knowing that field is not level removes a lot of that fun.

Personally, I found it very interesting the last OGT tourney that happened with and without the cheat active. The first rounds of scores (that I took notice of) with the anti-cheat active were lower. And then when it was removed, scores shot up.
