There's a deal at my local MicroCenter pc store.   They have a playseat revolution plus T300RS for $500 plus tax.  Wonder if I should jump on this and sell my TMX with regular pedals on ebay.

For an interesting setup, checkout YouTube for Mixed Reality.

Plays driving sims combining VR and a green screen. Results are unbelievable.

Just bought a racing cockpit.  Looks similar to The Playseat Evolution but a little bit cheaper and comes with a shifter mount built in.  Got it for $249+shipping - $20 Visacheckout.

You're killing me Z!!  This along with a good wheel/pedal set and VR would be pretty epic.

This may be my next project.

If you find yourself getting sucked into sim racing then do yourself a favor and visit http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/.

Ive ordered his stuff before and it's wonderful quality. I had his Track Boss button box and a sequential shifter that stand up well to the abuse. In total i bet i had around $1,200 into my setup. iRacing is the best bang for your buck. It's costly but you'll find the best racing with it. Rfactor 1 and 2 are great as well.

Mebby,

Is there a simpler setup that I can get for just the basics?  Something I can easily get out of sight for a more wife-friendly environment?

I just run a Logitech G27 wheel and pedals, with optional H-Pattern shifter for some of those retro cars.

Wheel just bolted to my desk and I sit in an office chair, playing on a 27" single screen. Usually just play iRacing and RRRE.

Mebby,

Just clamp the wheel to a small table/night stand.  pedals go underneath.  when done, put it away.

A lot of people swear by these things where it all bolts to the unit and folds up easily to go in a closet, against a wall, under a bed in some scenarios, etc

I'd probably go this route as this would be in our media room where I play all my PC games.  This could easily be put away in a closet when I'm done.  This is the ticket.

@Mebby:  You going to play in VR I assume?

VR Driving/Racing seems like an awesome use of VR right now!

Yep!!  It's already a blast with a simple XB1 controller sitting in a chair.  A good steering wheel and pedal would push it over the top.

Find yourself a G27 wheel from Logitech. You can bolt it to a desk or some people will use those wooden TV trays as well. Unbolted really easy when not in use. I mentioned the G27 as it's regarded as the best wheel for the money ratio. It was my wheel of choice. The H shifter was a bit flimsy but upgrading to the one I had above was all I ever needed.

Thanks.  Can the G27 be mounted to a stand like the one Buck posted above?
