I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship right now. PG randomly punches me in the face and causes me much anguish, but I can't leave.
The new update took everyone down, just check the OGT leaderboards.
People need to calm down, practice, and get better.

Anyone hit a plugged sand shot near the hole? 3c here and even with good snap seems plugged is impossible to get close to the pin.
now that sounds very realistic to me.
i have only had one sofar , and popped it out in one go, it didnt travel far. ( i am on ms-h, so that may differ)
the normal bunkershot is not very difficult for me.
i am curious how to test them, just hitting high shots in bunkers? lol is that the only way?

Hahaha! Ain't that the truth!! Well put! I'm following all these comments on the new release etc. and it's pretty funny sometimes. I've given up on settling on any gameplan right now, as JNPG is still a very fluid thing, were swings, distances, options, settings and circumstances keep changing. I used to play around my handicap, but that's out the window for now.
For now (and maybe forever) I approach this game like real golf, playing like I would in real life, trying to produce the same shots I would irl. This game is already so good that that is a 'real' option. Playing Links was great but JNPG is the next level in every sense. All credit to the developers (and testers) who keep pushing the envelop. It's an amazing proces to follow...

You have to hit a full shot out of a plugged lie otherwise it will only go about 10 feet. Imo plugged lies happen too often. I played about 30 rounds irl this year and I can count the number of plugged lies I got in one hand. It seems half the time I hit a greenside bunker it ends up plugged in the game.
That seems to be a bit hyperbolic, D.
In all the beta testing I did and playing since the final went out I've only had a few plugged lies. Might need to use both hands to count them but would probably have a finger or two left over. ![]()

We've had a number of shots that when landing apparently in the rough near a green show plugged then when it switches to your shot it's plugged in the sand but a few feet back from where it landed in the rough.

Probably, but I almost prefer a plugged lie in certain situations as the fat/thin ratio seems to be almost non existent. I spent an hour yesterday at woodys with a plugged lie and while you aren't getting it close to a pin with little green to work with the distances you get are reliable. Give me plenty of green and a 20-30 yard bunker shot and I'll take a plugged lie over a non plugged lie with that stupid fat/thin ratio.

That effect is caused by the ball pausing in the air just before it lands, it's a bug and we haven't been able to get to the bottom of it yet. The ball doesn't land in the rough - the ball simply does not land but then it appears where it was going to land ie bunker.

But, how many bunkers did you land in? That's the key question.

Plenty....average 58-67% GIR and hit numerous bunkers. Key is to not hit them straight on with a really high shot to the green....sand saves way down compared to pre-update.

I don't even want to discuss my sand save percentage. It's flipping shamfull. I have an easier time getting the ball out of bunkers irl than in a video game. That's not right considering I'm a 15 handicapper.

I'm 5/19 on sand saves in the nine rounds at OGT since the update. Three of those came in one round, lol. That's 26.3%. Like I said, shameful.

Mine used to be in the high-90's and is now a more realistic 20/29 or 68%.

What level and swing method do you use? Mine was in the 60-70% range before. So I was in the realistic PGA zone before the update.

I think the fat/thin ratio is more pronounced in 3C. At least the only people that are complaining about it are three clickers. Each degree missed on the snap fat reduces the carry about 30-40% out of the bunker in TP 3C. You miss thin and it's rocket city. Seriously, I've hit shots in this game sine the update that I wouldn't admit to in real life. Like I said earlier right path just way too far.
