But, how many bunkers did you land in? That's the key question.

Curious question, why do you land straight in them bunkers so often.  (can be the diff you play on, i play pro)

that happens very rarely to me, but i can end in them with the roll, i play on hard fairways.

sofar only seen one pluggy.

I don't hit a lot of bunkers really. I average about 2 a round and probably half of those are trying to get to a tight pin from 100-130 yards. I've started advoiding pins behind bunkers.

One of the strategies used by some players was to hit the ball into the bunker on purpose.  Before the new update bunker shots were simple, now they are incredibly tough.  Just more whining about the realism of the game. ;)

If everyone would look at this game as a "new game" and start from scratch, they would enjoy the new learning curve.

This is not real life. In real life I have control of the angle of attack and placement of grip. We have none of that, especially 3c. The fat/ratio on Tour Pro is ludicrous. I shouldn't have a harder time getting the ball out of a bunker than in real life where I hold a 15 Hndcp. I never hit the ball in the bunker on purpose unless the other choice was worse. I would try to place it about 20-40 yards on the fairway to flop it though. That was my go to shot. Notice that I'm not really complaining about the flop shot? Simple fact of the matter is the gameplay is unbalanced now. Before I missed my share of fairways and my driving average with a driver was around 280-5. Now I'm about 10 yards longer and I rarely miss a fairway. They took away shots, imo without really adding any. I've yet to be able to replicate my IRL pitch checkup. I can one hop check a pitch with maybe three feet of roll even on a downhill lie. I've yet to hit that shot in practice and I sure as hell wont try it in an OGT round. It just feels weird that certain shots are harder to pull off in a game than irl when others I couldn't possibly achieve. That is why I feel this update is unbalanced. You're not changing my opinion on that. Hopefully they will address this in the next update.

@Drgnslyr221:

Seeing as that most of the issues you are bringing up are tied to 3C, perhaps this would be a good time to try some of the other options?

Perhaps you'd enjoy it more?

I'm having the time of my life on RTS-C with this latest update.
The game finally is "over the hump" on gameplay. Just awesome baby!

Simple - don't hit it fat and keep your snap to thin % within about 2.5. If you can do that you should have no issue with bunker shots if you can't hit inside that % at the hardest level of the game you will find that bunkers are not the walk in the park they used to be.

I've played with RTS and RTS-C. Not really impressed with either if you want my honest opinion. I played RTS Elite in Links 2003 so I'm not afraid of it, lol.

:D Hahaha! Ain't that the truth!! Well put! I'm following all these comments on the new release etc. and it's pretty funny sometimes. I've given up on settling on any gameplan right now, as JNPG is still a very fluid thing, were swings, distances, options, settings and circumstances keep changing. I used to play around my handicap, but that's out the window for now.  -_- For now (and maybe forever)  I approach this game like real golf, playing like I would in real life, trying to produce the same shots I would irl. This game is already so good that that is a 'real' option. Playing Links was great but JNPG is the next level in every sense. All credit to the developers (and testers) who keep pushing the envelop. It's an amazing proces to follow...

Yeah, some of the responses here are hilarious. For goodness sake people, THIS IS A GAME.

A great game, to be sure. But still a game.

Things change, get over it already. B)

2.5? Try more like 1-1.25 and that ball goes rocking over the green. Someone that's been playing TP 3C for a year and a half shouldn't be having issues with balls not coming out of the bunker, period. I'm sorry you went to far on the fat/thin ratio. I don't have this problem irl when I hit it a little fat or a little thin. Not saying it doesn't happen, but the ratio is so far out of whack it baffles me.

I think you guys are trying to hard to replicate a fluid thing like a golf swing into a linear method like 3C. I'm sure this is great for simulator users and to a lesser extent RTS-C with their ability to have tempo. It just doesn't translate well to three clicks when you go that far.

I've just made a video which is currently uploading to the youtube. 3c tour pro - I'm not talking hot air, I actually went out and hit shots to prove it as you will see shortly.

Of course I'll watch your video. Not sure what will change as it is an issue of just missing the snap, but I'll try anything at this point. I'm embarrassing myself on the tour right now. I took three shots to get out of a bunker at Rio then I proceeded to blow the fourth twenty yards over the green.

That's too bad..

I think the RTS options are amazing.

I would honestly go back to TW08 Mouse Swing again if all PG had is 3C.

I'm amazed you guys like it still!  (think I quit about 17 years ago)

I'm trying to help you but also to put the record straight. I'm not saying the shots are easy but it's the hardest level of the game it should not be a walk in the park!

PS I keep saying % in the video but I mean degrees.

I have an old 360 controller that has aging sticks and I honestly don't want to spend money to replace it. I might give the mouse swing a try when I have more time. I have to stick with 3C for OGT.

@Mike:  Great video...Very interesting to see.

I also think it's great that the hardest level of the game got a bit harder.  There are 5 levels of play and it's nice to have the most challenging level be....very very challenging.

Some of us love that and those that don't have 4 other options.
