I will buy the windows 10 version. I think JNPG is just fine on steam. I seriously doubt PP will release a console version w\o taking advantage of the courses created by the course forge.
Only time will tell.

Just format the drive after downloading the win10 installer tool, create a USB or CD install disc it will recognize your cloud registered PC. That is what I have done and it makes a big difference in load times.
Glad this thread was brought back up as I went to this link and.....
'We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found."
Looks like this tool is no longer available, so I never got to do what I wanted to do...

Link worked for me, but just search for win 10 media creation tool or how to install win 10. You just need to create a win 10 usb or iso install media to boot to for a clean install.

I did my dual boot on 2 separate drives this afternoon, all worked a treat.

There is a big difference of being loyal and submissive, We where told when we bought this game we would have it to play as long as we wanted and we or seeing that it might cost us even more money to play it. when is this going to stop,or is this the beginning of another money grabber. losing interest in this game very quickly.
Perfect Parallel have already said the the release of a Windows 10 version of JNPG will not render the Steam version null & void. It will still be supported on Steam.

Unless I've missed something, has it been confirmed that the Win 10 version wont be available on Steam? It wont make any difference to me as long as it can be d/l from somewhere and played both online and offline as well.
Just thinking of starting saving a fund to upgrade my machine to something a bit beefier if the Win 10 version doesn't give an optimized performance- as I seriously want to play this at full tilt on my machine

Here is the response Andrew Jones had to this question back on January 22, 2017:
"Any new version will probably contain a bunch of DX11 specific stuff that will not work on DX9. eg. 3D Grass. As a result it is highly likely that we will release a new version all togehter.
This does not mean that we will not continue to add new stuff to the existing DX9 Steam game because we will continue to support and add to it.
At this point we do not even know if the Windows 10 version will be through Steam or Microsoft Store. But since it will be using the XBOX Live multiplayer it is possible that Steam is not the right place for it.
A lot of speculation and not a lot of answers at this point. The reason is we dont have any yet. As soon as we know and are in a position to communicate we will do so."
His post above is on page 8 of this thread, but since we've heard nothing different since then, I guess they still can't answer this question any more definitively than what Andrew posted above.
As for your question about your need to beef up your machine to play it; the Windows 10 version is supposed to utilize SpeedTree instancing, via Unity 5.5. Perfect Parallel reported early on that they were seeing roughly double the frame rates because of it. The Windows 10 version is also going to use NVIDIA's Turf Effects for grass textures, which Mike Jones said was only imposing a 2 or 3 FPS performance hit on his PC. You can run the permutations on this from that information, but it sounds to me like the Windows 10 version will a more efficient performer - by a significant margin - than the current verison!

Sure would be nice to get updates on what they're working on once a month. It takes a little time, but we're worth it.

Right now I'd settle for 10 seconds of video, showing SpeedTree instancing and Turf Effects in action with the Windows 10 version of JNPG.

That might be the case. They have a bigger development team, so a faster development speed is to be expected.
I would like it faster for JNPG as well. But it is what it is. It won't get faster if we "semi-bitch" around.

I think most are not considering the full scale of what Perfect Parallel is planning to do with the Windows 10 version of the game. It's a gargantuan task, especially for a development team their size. Whenever it comes, I think it's going knock people's socks off... including mine

Lack of video could make folks think they are encountering issues. Mike had already posted pics of the 3D grass and lighting from CF so we know it exists but obviously not to be seen in motion.
Unless he's just overlooked it, lol.

Was not meant as an attack at all. I feel exactly the same as you - it is too slow. For us players/fans of the game. But it may be too slow considering the market as well. When TGC2 is out it will get bought by quite a few golf game fans. I don't know, if the same amount of potential customers ponies up the money again a few months later. PP seems always to be a little late to the party. For me that's not a problem. I enjoy the game tremendously already. But if a significant growing player base is the goal, i think speed of development is a problem.
I just wanted to express, that our moaning and bickering probably won't make any difference.

I think TGC2 will get a lot of players buying it but it wont be myself as unless the gameplay is 10 times better than the first version I have no interest at all as to me it just was not good at all. With that said when and if this game becomes Windows 10 it will open the flood gates of players in my opinion. I am like most tho here and would love to have at least a monthly update as info is always good.

Is there any chance that custom/adjustable club distances are being considered for the current or next version of PG?
