I also agree with Frank.  I don't have TGC2 and won't get it but while  playing JNPG I often find myself quitting a round after just a couple of holes.  Also don't think I'll be renewing my OGT membership and hope sure that career mode would be good.

The thing that will keep people playing the game is gameplay and not 3d-grass or fancy avatars, those are nice to haves.  Gameplay can be improved tremendously  without adding a thing, you only need to make slight tweaks to  the current model we have now.

The doom and gloom crowd is at it yet again ad nauseam.  Why is it that some need constant change or updates to like and/or keep interest in a game?  It seems to me that if the game was "feature complete" the same individuals would still become bored because no more constant change is needed.

One thing is for damn sure.  I will not be getting ripped off again by purchasing TGC2.  Some here dislike our beloved Hacker Harry which other than his hands looks quite good.  Then I saw videos of TGC2 and almost fell off my couch in laughter.  Why does their avatars have a hunchback position?  The posture of the golfer looks basically like poo to put it politely.  Like I posted before if the game stayed as is with no more changes it would easily still satisfy me for another decade.  Possibly the medical researchers were off a few decades with the theory of ADD?

Update:

The beta testers are currently playing a build that has some tweaked cup physics, trying to eliminate the "ball going below the edge of the cup" lip outs.  Early indications are good, although lots of testing remains to be done.  PP is currently in Europe getting ready for The Open.

Crow any update on this Beta as the lipout is still a major hassle.  At Illinois in the Official event RD 3 just now I had the problem on 4, 5, and 10 where I barely got the ball to the cup and it goes in and pops out.  Just horrible how that happens and any fix has got to be better than what it is now.  It will kill a round and did mine.

Well, we're still testing it at this point, and of course the lead programmer (Andrew) is at The Open right now supporting Sky, sooo.... it may be a little while still.  We've seen a couple bad lips, so there's still work to be done.

Hey its being tested and that's good and it's the same for all at this point. The edges of the cup are a no go at this point and I have seen a few drop near the edges but I will say almost all the lipouts happen at 13 and 14 Stimp. It's not really the lipouts in general that bothers me as I have has those where they were realistic it's the ones that go down and up and out that are the issue.

@Green: Yeah, Mike wants to nail those down too.

@Mebby:  Yeah, it was a huge improvement over the flat textures look now.  Divots looked really super good.  Of course, what I saw was an Alpha implementation of it, and there we're still some things to work out with it, so I'm sure it's improved now, as well.

I sure hope now that the Open is over this one problem really gets a good look over and even an update with some improvement has got to be better than what we have.  I just played at Trump National Hudson Valley the first nine of the PGLS Stableford and had 4 on the front side and honestly only one should have been a lipout as the ball was in and popped back out the other three times and the ball had no speed on it at all.  To me it seems its getting worse by the day.

Joe you could be right.  Lol.  Its not the lipouts that bother me as much as the ones that go into the hole halfway down and then shoot out which Mike has said there is a problem with.  I know its being worked on just getting tired of it I guess but its the same for all so it is what it is.

What are the chances of seeing the Windows 10 version by the end of September?

Greater than 50/50 or less than 50/50?

The cup physics patch released recently has pretty much corrected the excessive lip outs.  I still get lip outs as is expected in golf, so PG must be pretty damn close to having cup physics correct. :)

I think after the first of the year we will see a release of a windows 10 version.  Might be around xmas time too. :)

Mike mentioned on the steam forums that Course Forge is being updated to Unity 2017, will we see any improvements in JNPG, or will that only be for JNPG2.
