I do get to play many games from the lobby with many friends would ne nice though to expand that list with regulars and new players.Ask any regular or new players if they have ever had an issue with me playing a casual game i bet the answer is no

I had an argument with only one player over 3400 hours of play all multiplayer.  He was tlvx.  He plays here no more.  Peace  :P

do away with the chat during MP who needs it anyway.

that is the reason why i don't play MP much is i don't like to sit at my desk while playing so im around

no keyboard so rather then be rude and not chat i just don't play it.

Off topic i know but i have been playing this game since early development and i can say that i have yet to have a casual game against any of the top posters on this forum.I find that weird i understand many play competitions only but is it too much to just have a casual round? I have many friends on the game and its always fun friendly banter i think too many now are more intrested in playing tournaments and getting their names on the boards by any means than just having a friendly game of golf.

I am 35 months from retirement and at that point I will play more online with others but very difficult for me right now as with what I do I need to take a lot of breaks to answer questions and that's not fair to either my fellow players or my work.  I really do enjoy playing with others and look forward to it some day but also enjoy playing tournaments and just playing with my CPU guy.  Lol.

I think we have a bit of a generational gap on this forum to be honest. I'm 41, have a demanding job and five kids. I put my family first, work second, and whatever time is left over I play some games (or engage in a myriad of other activities that I enjoy). By the time I get around to getting a few rounds in I honestly don't have the time to sit around and mine for online competition or to put the hours into sitting around in the lobby like Crusher described to find a group of people I enjoy playing with. Plus... if I'm being honest, offline play is more appealing to me most of time. I spend all day talking to people. Sometimes I just want to have a beer and play some golf without worrying about keeping up with conversation.

Many people here are quick to judge people that don't play online much and I do not understand that. Only thing I can figure is a large generation gap.

Agreed.

I am married, both kids are grown and I just became a Grandpa for the first time in May, so my play time is very limited. My career is very fulfilling with lots of travel. I do not have time to play as much as I like and truth be told I don't have enough time to play two Golf games, let alone one.

I do have a passion around Golf games and enjoy discussing them with others. I don't think that those of us who don't play online casual rounds should be criticized for not playing such rounds. I may change my tune once I retire, but that is 10 years away and I am more likely to look for a real course to play instead of a digital one and play with my friends in the process.

When I've played with folks I didn't know on MP, I have tried my best to text chat but it was so f'in infuriating..

The way the chat box "disappears" just makes you want to throw your keyboard through the screen...

(can't voice chat - doesn't work around my household situation)

thought I'd jump in here just for a quick thought. I know its been said that perfect golf is not perfect parallels main focus, that they are more focused onreal golf then this game but, my thought is if you want to have a successfulgame to go along with your other endeavors you're going to have to dedicate a little more time to the development of the game. the gameplay is fantastic, user and sponsored courses work well, multiplayer works but then that's where it ends. is this game coming to console this year? next year? when will the pc upgrade hit? career mode, avatar customization, country clubs? any other extras? hopefully there is a plan for this game, the gameplay is too good to let it float into nothingness.

Yes, the game is coming to console.  Yes, the next version of the game for windows will be coming out.  Both are being worked on with planned releases sometime next year.  Included will be career mode, avatars, and 3d grass.  I've played an alpha of the 3d grass.  I've seen some avatar work.  So, it's being worked on.  Next year though.  So, yes, there is a plan.

So the shoe drops..

That's the first official word I've seen on "next year".

I think most of us were sort of wagering on that anyhow.

Are you at liberty to comment or wager your own guess on if that means "Jan/Feb" or like "one year from now" (Summer 2018)?

Well, one tried to dash ahead but it seems at times to be tripping over its' own feet.  The other is still as solid as ever.   :)

Agreed - I just fear for some of the "old tortoises" around here and whether they can make it to this finish line that appears further and further off in the distance!
