Off topic i know but i have been playing this game since early development and i can say that i have yet to have a casual game against any of the top posters on this forum.I find that weird i understand many play competitions only but is it too much to just have a casual round? I have many friends on the game and its always fun friendly banter i think too many now are more intrested in playing tournaments and getting their names on the boards by any means than just having a friendly game of golf.
I think we have a bit of a generational gap on this forum to be honest. I'm 41, have a demanding job and five kids. I put my family first, work second, and whatever time is left over I play some games (or engage in a myriad of other activities that I enjoy). By the time I get around to getting a few rounds in I honestly don't have the time to sit around and mine for online competition or to put the hours into sitting around in the lobby like Crusher described to find a group of people I enjoy playing with. Plus... if I'm being honest, offline play is more appealing to me most of time. I spend all day talking to people. Sometimes I just want to have a beer and play some golf without worrying about keeping up with conversation.
Many people here are quick to judge people that don't play online much and I do not understand that. Only thing I can figure is a large generation gap.
