Much as I enjoyed the TGC 1, I am in no rush to purchase its successor, going on what I've seen so far.
I'll probably check out the comments when the Christmas sale rolls around to see if all the issues have been resolved and make a decision then on whether its worth a purchase... for now I'm still very happy playing JNPG.
Unless the multiplayer on it is up to scratch and they've resolved the problem of different players seeing different outcomes that plagued the original then I'm not interested.

From tee to green I play pretty consistent, but the short game is really a challenge on TGC2. And honestly that's kind of how real golf works and it actually is making that game a blast to play right now. From my understanding, HB is aware of the lighting issues from the thousands of complaints and is now on there main list of fixes whenever they decide to patch the game. But overall other than the lighting, I'm really having a ball playing it. It's going to be really cool when PG2 comes out and there will be 2 awesome golf games to play then.

I don't think it matters what your on. We all get the same content.
Just searched for JNPG on the PS4 in the societies area and nothing. Must be platform specific. No biggie, as I'm in a society already anyway.

I believe it is. Another shortcoming that people aren't too pleased about.

The only thing that is shared across platforms (currently) are the courses, which is a pretty nice perk to have, IMO.

How is it a "perk" when we had this in tgc1 what would be a perk is if we had the same game modes as we had in TGC1 as it sands ATM we have lost game modes for people who like to play live with friends, enplane that one away Mr fan boy JCato04, and enplane how HBS miss led everyone with this game saying "we have all the same games modes in TGC2 as we have TGC1" that was just a BIG LIE don't you think sir.

ICYMI, DoGgz released a course called Cinnamon Ridge. If you like elevation changes, this one's for you.
It has some views which, with better lighting, would've gone from good to spectacular.

You make an excellent point for which I have no counter, Mr. Harvey. As a fanboy, sometimes I tend to see things through rose colored glasses and make Pollyannaish statements which can then be thoroughly dissected by more objective, critical thinkers such as yourself. I am very disappointed that HBS has indeed mislead the buying public into thinking we were going to have all four game modes available in TGC 2, in online multiplayer.
Only two of them, stroke and stableford, are currently doable in online multiplayer. They are citing the fact that fourball and matchplay are workable multiplayer game modes, even though they are only playable in 'local' multiplayer play. That is side-stepping the issue, when these modes worked in online multiplayer in TGC 1. IMO, this is not a good look for HBS and they are being justifiably called out on it. I'm still enjoying the heck out of the gameplay that the Society tournaments and strokeplay matches are delivering, but it is missing that critically important live, matchplay element that I crave and was able to obtain in TGC 1.

Hey Dogz... What tees are you playing in TGC2? Every time I go to add a ghost player I see you in there but you're playing from the forward tees. Try going back to the big boy tees
I'm playing custom career with user courses on hard difficulty yet it is still forcing me to play from red tees? all others are locked, surely that cannot be correct?? BTW custom career is broken, the devs need to be told, in template season the A.I break par on medium, but it forces you to play those crap courses... i have played 5 rounds on hard playing only user courses and the A.I have not broken par once, lol i'm like 20 shots clear! oh and cinnamon ridge only has one set of tees, so its showing as red.

Seem to make a better pass at the swing, but the feedback still confuses the hell out of me as what feel like the same swings over and over are getting totally different readings.
Anything from perfect/perfect to very sliw/slow. FFS, I couldn't swing the analogue controller very slow if I tried, lol.
Scores were the usual drivel, but did make me concentrate a bit more as using left hand.
Still think I try and play golf games too fast which could be a contributing factor to my crap scores.
Seem to be adapting to the putting better than in TGC, as the aiming marker no longer has a bearing on the power. I did realise I wasn't following through enough with the putting stroke which was causing my longer putrs to go nowhere near where I was expecting. Don't 3 putt nowhere near as much now.
The game still feels like arcade golf to me, provably because of the dial a distance loft tweaks, but is currently providing enough of an intetest on PS4 to keep me going. Will have to see if that's the case once Everybody's Golf arrives.
It certainly holds more appeal than TGC to me, mainly probably due to swing changes and society events.
Have to say that the official TGC courses seem like they were created in 5 minutes with a few button clicks. If PP offered quality like that, they'd be laughed out of town.
End of the day, playing 2 golf games is never a bad deal. Keeps the other one fresh I guess, but still see JNPG as my go to game.
Onward and upward. FORE! right.

The backswing tempo element has to do with the pause at the top of the swing, not how fast you pull the stick back. But the downswing tempo does relate to how fast you push the stick forward and is relative to how quickly you pulled the stick back.
See if that helps.

Today on the PS4 I created a society called "Old Timer's Club". It is for people (like you) who have been playing golf games for years. Feel free to join. It would be nice to see names from days gone by from Course Depot, Tiger Woods Community, Copyright Club, Golden Bear's Den and Links Corner!

Quite a lot of discontent about the game over at HB forum, many are complaining about connection issues still, the short game and career mode gets a bashng too. In terms of the short game and chipping especially, i had 2 chip shots last night, one that stopped totally dead on first bounce, then he next one actually spun back about 2 feet! at first i thought i had pitched on an upslope, but it was actually 1" down. I have quite enjoyed having the odd round here and there, but the short game is broken, it just cannot be defended, and the more people who do the less chance of improvement.

Also still get thrown offline now and again, probably more than I should be.
At least HBS have plenty to keep them busy as there should be a substantial patch in the works, lol.
Also had a peek at the course designer. Seems you are limited to how far down you can shrink trees. Even at their smallest, some still look too big and chunky to me.

You can always loft down on your chip shots, that way you wont get them stopping dead, but really you should not have to be doing that all the time, they need to get it right, seems like they focused on the biggest gripe (off the tee) and gave the short game an after thought, the performance of the A.I in career mode is prob the worst i have ever seen in a golf game, one guy on youtube edited 100 players to reflect the real player names had his edited roster reset to fictional names after playing one short starter season...ouch! thats just plain crazy.

Do they do what some do here at JNPG, blame the beta testers for not finding ALL of the issues?

I have given TGC2 a few hours so far and I an unsure of what I think about it. I find that I can easily swing with good results on the practice range consistently but as soon as I go onto a course, results are wildly different when the mouse swing is very similar.
Looks are a tad bright and consolely to me but only need a bit of tweaking with lighting I would think to get them looking better. Courses still to me look as if they are very quickly put together and very generic. I maybe have not found the right courses yet
The avitar is just plain strange. Sometimes it looks ok, other times- chipping especially, it looks just wrong.
Going to withold final judgement until I have tinkered a bit more but so far, still prefering PG to it
