Ball flight rules are optional......lol

It has nothing to do with spin.  It's simply a setting to change what happens based on your swing.  For some (me included) it makes sense that if your stick has an inside/out motion that you'd hook the ball.  If you set this setting to normal that's what happens.  But if you set it to inverted then it will result in a fade/slice which seems backwards to me.

Inverted is backwards to most of the planet.  God knows why it's the default.... LOL

Just played The Lake Course @ Red Brick Road. Good god are the greens beyond stupid. Perfect example of why this game sucks so hard at times.

LOL!! Very true!

The crazy part is that even if you change it to normal and you execute and outside/in swing the swing feedback will show the "downswing" stick movement going off to the right. The ball will indeed slice but the "swing" feedback doesn't show you at all what your swing actually did - it shows you the direction that the ball will travel which just adds unnecessary confusion.

I've turned swing feedback off anyway because it's more realistic. But it's as if the game was built by people that have never played golf.

JNPG kills TGC2 in terms of realism and physics. Whenever they get around to advancing the game graphically it will be a very good golf game. They also need to consider bringing tournament and social aspects into the game more. The Societies in TGC2 are pretty cool.

The plethora of crap courses has begun. I hate that I cannot just delete a course instead of having to resume it in order to get it out of the resume status. As stated above the ball roll on the greens is beyond frustrating. I've never had to sit and watch my ball roll at a snails pace for 20 seconds before it stopped. It's enough to make me wanna punch the monitor sometimes.

Ball bounce and roll off the tee leads to a lot of balls going into either the rough or sand. And some designers don't help with the snaking fairways that are 5 yards wide with a metric fu**ton of sand on every hole. They really need to learn how to use the lay of the land to protect the green instead of sand all the time. The loft/deloft feature is a complete farce on its own. There's more to rant about but as time go's by the less I enjoy it. Ohh and the wind is wayyyyy over done. Having to aim 15 yards to the right or left with an 8-10 mph wind just to get on target is ridiculous.

Blame the designers not HB for most of this crap, most designers tend to make their courses way to ***** fast and firm which is why balls don't stop. Yeah some issues with physics that HB needs to fix I hope but PG has it's issues with physics as well which are not right which will never get fixed until PG2 or Hell it's ***** PERFECT!!

The physics are much closer to real life in PG than TGC2. I mean outside of the weird lip out crap it's not even close.

Yea - without a doubt. TGC is and always will lean towards arcade golf. So if the most realistic golf experience is what you're looking for then TGC shouldn't even be in the running.

Physics aside there are pros and cons to each offering though.

Looks like TGC2 may need an even harder level, judging from the scores.

They are all in " if you can't beat em, join em mode"  so many straight shooters, and more every day...game is ruined in terms of tours.

What I'd hate to see (again) is designers going to extremes to prevent low scores.

With some of the greens coming out it's already happening.

It would be so simple to raise the scores. Eliminate or significantly alter the loft mechanism and eliminate shot feedback on tour clubs.

The loft mechanism allows for laser accuracy from any distance. Absurd.

The truth can be said in PG, Most people play with either 3-click or controller because it is so easy to hit. In PG you don't have to worry about tempo in anything BUT mouse swing so most gravitate elsewhere. TGC2 has tempo but not to the extreme that PG based there tempo on but there tempo is also in the controller swing not here.

If people want to cheat with 3 inch stick extenders, turn off axis controllers I could careless. It's not about actually being good anymore, it's all about I NEED TO BE AS GOOD OR THE BEST and my cheat gives me this. But also there are many people here and at TGC2 that do play a TON and when you play that much do you get better..

Not sure where your data on "most" is coming from, but I can say that I certainly don't play RTS-C on PG Tour Pro because it's "so easy to hit" (it isn't).

Personally, I play controller because I enjoy playing exclusively from the couch these days with an HTPC and it's also wonderful to have all game controls right in hand.

I'd actually built a lap board thing and played MS at the couch before RTS-C came along and it was ok, but just a pain to set up and use and involved a lot of crap hanging around in the living area that wasn't appreciated by the household, nor could I lay back and chill like one can with a controller.

Anyhow, just an anecdote I thought I'd share.

It's a touch presumptuous to assume that "most" are using 3C or RTS-C because it's "easy to hit" (your words, not mine).

Do you know the beauty of the straight shooters?  they will eventually tire of the game because there is zero variation from shot to shot, there is no challenge and there is .... no game! just repetitive boring target shooting.  The cure for straight shooting will be...straight shooting.

Grab an official xbox pad, put it to TP and show us then, your words are worthless without backing it up, not worth posting.

Out of curiosity, which xbox controller is the most sensitive (i.e., the most difficult to play with)?  Any opinions?

I concur. Have seen the same thing from time to time on PS4. Allow break for putt based on grid bead movements and ball rolls totally opposite direction, lol. Maybe they have snuck in realistic and bumpy greens without telling anyone, lol.

I'm also not overly enamoured by the ball bounce and roll. Looks totally unrealistic at times. The ball also has that exaggerated bobbly bounce after landing. It's like watching a ping pong ball going down our driveway.

I find that once you suss out the TGC2 tempo (which quite a few appear to have done already, especially on PS4), the swing is very much like playing TGC, so if you can repeat a reasonably straight analogue stick move it feels very much like playing the original game.

Obviously you need to play on the TOUR clubs then because its nothing whatsoever like TGC swing
