Obviously you need to play on the TOUR clubs then because its nothing whatsoever like TGC swing

Obviously you need to read the post more carefully then.

Thumbstick back, thumbstick forward. Suss out the TGC2 tempo and if you're hitting Perfect/Perfect tempo quite often, add to this a more or less straight swing path and the TGC2 swing is very much like the TGC swing. That is all I am saying.

Hit straight shots with Perfect/Perfect tempo and it doesn't matter which clubs you are using, other than that they will carry different distances. Or are you going to tell me that if someone is playing TOUR clubs, has Perfect/Perfect tempo and swings perfectly straight that the ball will still deviate offline?

All the club level does is set the penalty for an off-centre swing, something TGC didn't have as it only had the one difficulty level. So the swing is more or less the same, but the level of clubs chosen applies the amount of penalty for an off-centre hit.

Would be a nice addition to either game. They both need a proprietary controller.

They are all in " if you can't beat em, join em mode"  so many straight shooters, and more every day...game is ruined in terms of tours.

PG is the better game for sure imo, but It happens in PG  also. TGC is going to  monitor for fair play.  I do like the fact you can see your opponents  swing plane in TGC2.

I've gotta say that Tour Clubs in TGC 2 are well suited for someone who has average thumbstick skills, like myself.  I also found that if I use my XBox 360 Silver Edition controller, I get my desired results of being in the 60 - 65% range for FIRs and GIRs, mostly because of swing path errors, but maybe 10 to 15% of the time because of tempo errors.  I hit perfect/perfect tempo maybe 80% of the time, but the misses don't always lead to a missed fairway or green.

My FIRs and GIRs improve by ~10% using an XBox Elite controller, because it's easier to maintain swing path with it, but I find it no easier to hit perfect/perfect tempo.  I see that people's experiences with this game vary considerably.  I know people who can't break 80 using Standard clubs with it!?  I've got four different types of controllers I can use with my PC: XBox Box 360 Silver Edition, XBox One, XBox Elite, and DS4.  I shot a 67 at Royal Birkdale 2017 with the XBox One Elite, and for comparison, a 91 with the DS4 controller, using the left thumbstick... I'd shoot in the mid-70's using the right thumbstick as the swing stick with the DS4 because I'm deadly with tracking the swing plane with the right thumbstick, but I flat out suck on short and putting game touch shots with it.

I'm not sure what it says when I can pick my scoring range by which controller I select, but then again, this is also the case with me, to lesser extremes, with JNPG.  Not everyone is buying into the tempo component of TGC 2, but I find that I like the extra dimension it adds to the game challenge, even though I think they could have modeled reality a little better with it.

Some people cannot indeed break 80 etc etc, but when you break it down where is TGC getting its difficulty from? all the wrong places, thats where....

1. So many courses have silly ice rink greens, i tried playing that version of copperhead over there, what a total waste of design time, the greens are ridiculous, with a downhill putt you cannot stop the ball at the hole...as a tour venue that would be a fail.

2. Rough that is too penal most of the time, it will not let you work a good recovery shot unless you are close in.

3. putts that break the wrong way, lost count of the times i have now seen that happen.

4. Chip and flop mechanics that beggar belief as to how clumsy and poorly integrated they are.

5. Playing from a bunker with any kind of sloped lie, there is no point in trying to keep a true swing path, the game will decide the outcome, not you.

HB have a hell of a lot to fix before this game is up to scratch, and judging on TGC it does not look promising.  I was hoping to play some career mode, but that is just an afterthought yet again, so i have been playing a few rounds with a steam buddy and up to now we have managed to complete 1 out of 6 games, at some point it will decide to lose connection...its a mess.

I bought the game for the designer and the career mode. Well, career mode sucks due to the fact user made courses don't work correctly and all but a handful of HB courses we're clearly designed by people with limited golf design knowledge. The designer is still good, but it's still held back by limitations such as you can only add square body's of water, spline work only creating a ring (WTF!) and the asinine brushes (seriously to hell with brushes).

There's so many bugs right now that TGC Tours can't even begin to start there seasons yet. Oh and the forums are turning into a real sh!t-show over there with all the cheating accusations and what clubs everyone should be using when the tours start up. All it's going to take ( and I can see it already) is for some nobody that always hung around the middle of the pack each tournament to win one and holly-hell is going erupt. All because he/she figured out the tempo on tour clubs and put together 4 solid rounds and the big dogs are going to be really really butthurt over it. You can bet that person will be banned for cheating...LOL

The biggest bug, and show stopper for me. is the lack of 3 click swing. I won't even look at the game without it. I'm not a gamer and have no need to buy a controller just to play the one game that I do, namely golf.

TGC tour wasn't involved with beta testing prior to release? Seems strange.

Dangerous path if you play real golf, as it will lead to the golfer changing his swing to suit the device/swingstick.

Mouse/game-controllers are safe in being so far removed from a real golf swing.

But it's definitely an ideal kickstarter product - sales up front before people realise how bad it is - and from the video you linked before showing a few holes, it looks terribly inaccurate.

Devices like these can never be accurate for golf simulation. This is more for fun and mainly for those that don't have the room/funds for a full setup.

The guy in the video didn't look like he was having fun - more wondering why his full swings were going 45 yards. Nor did the girl.

A glorified Wii controller with Hot Shots maybe for a (single) fun night with friends. Too arcadey even for TGC.

I wouldn't call it a bug, lol - they just didn't want 3 click.  You can play with mouse - I'm just not sure yet if their mouse swing is broken or it just takes hours of acclimatization. I don't think I've finished a round on it yet - a real club would have kicked me out for continually walking off.

LOL, it's a bug in the developer's head, IMO. I'm strictly a 3 clicker so sorry, not a game for me.

To be fair, APCD could create some stunning looking courses(just look what Mike and The Doc produced to name but two) but it seems if they are using it, they don't really push any boundaries with it, lol.

I followed up and read a few threads about it - owners are furious wanting refunds. Apparently if you hit balls with the device on a real club the display fails, so designer now declares you shouldn't hit balls with it. Yet it is sold with cradles for all clubs in the bag - in case you wish to air swing a wedge instead of a three iron.

APCD might be the most versatile consumer grade course designer program ever, but it's buggy as hell. I designed 5 courses in it and only released 3 due to losing 2 to the bugs.
