There was a post where PP asked for or encouraged career mode ideas which was comprehensive but not really providing much in the way of a concrete vision from the devs. Only that it would happen one day.

Just bought TGC2 on sale for £11 despite plethora of negative recent reviews. Went through the tutorials, ran through the clubs on range (playing with controller - I play RTSM on PG), then 15 mins later out on (easy) stock course and shot even par for first round played and quite  enjoyed the experience. Didn't find the chipping and putting 'impossible'. Unless I'm missing something, what's not to like as a fun PG alternative?

The physics are all over the place. The original Golf Club was a better playing game.

If anyone is considering adding TGC2 to their gaming library, currently 60% off on steam.

Hasn't that been in development and "coming soon" for like two or three years?

IDK-I rarely poke around Steam and actually just looked at my "queue" for the first time ever. Wouldn't doubt it that's for sure.

I'm tempted to buy TGC2 at this sale price just for the course designing - I loved it on the original. The problem is I doubt I'd play the actual game because I love JNPG too much and I find flitting between two games tends to screw up my game on both!!

I got it on sale a couple of days ago, and although I much prefer JNPG, I quite like this new challenge. Often most fun in the first weeks of learning a new game. To avoid mental confusion, I play RTS-M on JNPG and controller on TGC2. I find the controller implementation pretty good, though can't for the life of me hit it straight - at best I get the slight fade that matches up with the right side of the red cone. I just allow for it now on every shot. Finding the putting tricky - easy to miss those tiddly four-footers through misalignment. Where are those 8-foot gimmies when you need 'em?  ;)

Without the classic 3click meter, I will never try this game.

Going slightly off tangent.

I picked up Infinite Minigolf on PS4 yesterday as it was on sale in PS Store. It's from the folks who make the Zen Pinball games. It's a mini golf game and damn good fun, if you like that kind of thing. Currently 4 environments, about 16,000+ holes and counting and the game comes with a hole editor too.

This game is proper kick back and play with controller.

Available on consoles and on Steam.

Say, any updated thoughts after some more time/updates from those of you that play TGC2?

I'm curious how it's going and if they fixed all the issues you guys had with the initial release?

lol - I hear you... I bailed while I could still get a refund (hint:  quickly)

I know we do have some fans here though, so hopefully they'll chime in.

I'm enjoying the game enough to continue playing it. There are still some warts though.

The lighting is still sub par (but MUCH better than when released).

There's an odd issue with chip physics that they are ignoring.

Multiplayer is a joke. Seriously.

The stupid loft mechanism still exists which is super arcade.

But... If solo play is your thing then perhaps you can have a good time with it. I turn off shot feedback and force myself to not use the loft mechanism for controlling distance and I'm having a fair amount of fun with the game. It's far superior to TGC1 for my personal use but most of the community is really, really pissed about what they've done with the MP environment.

JNPG's physics are much better and if/when they catch up graphically than it will probably run circles around TGC2 in my humble opinion.

I'll continue to play it while I wait.

What's the odd chip physics issue?

It's irritating to hear they are ignoring major issues.
That's the sort of crap that EA does that we all want nothing to do with.
