And it's not just the cartoon-like graphics; sometimes in bright sunlight the golfer's skin and clothes will glow with a radioactive intensity. What was HB thinking?

Safe assumption you would think. Then again, they did release the game in this condition. So, who knows? Maybe they think the lighting is just fine. Yes, you'll see some stunning views; but just as often, you'll see flat, pale, cartoon-like graphics. It's embarrassing, if you ask me.
Totally agree. I just wish we could get some sort of response out of them on the issue.
I tend to agree with Divot. The more I look at it the more it's apparent that it's a gamma issue and that give me some hope that it's easily fixable. But then again... as you point out if it's an easy fix then when in the WORLD would they release it that way?

I actually feel a bit for Jeric, that dude has waited so long for decent MP and it just aint happening, i knew they would not deliver a satisfying MP experience, its not their priority, never has been, they laud the ghost ball feature to compensate, but its just not the same.
I know. HB said a while that they never thought people would play TGC live head to head in real time like in real golf. For JE, its sad really. If he had not been so closed mined and gave PG multiplayer a chance, he would actually being having fun...lol

how about the lighting totally obscuring the grid...lol tis kinda fun taking a guess. They never fixed a great deal with TGC 1 but i think they will remedy the lighting...they have to!

I hope their silence on the issue is due to having their full attention on resolving the server problems. Like you, though, if they don't address it, I'm done with the game.Totally agree. I just wish we could get some sort of response out of them on the issue.

Just FYI - I was considering installing a sim setup in my house and I may still eventually do it but I'm still recovering from emergency shoulder replacement surgery and I've got a long road ahead. So those plans are on the backburner because there's no way I can swing a club right now - hell, I just recently started peeing right handed again and this is 3 months post-op!
Sorry to hear that. Shoulder injuries suck. When you are ready, come to OGT for your PG simulator needs. Guys are having a blast playing tournaments and scrambles every night. Even now during the Summer.

I think once JNPG gets 3D grass (which, based on the previews, looks WAY better than TGC's 3D grass) and updated animations then perhaps he'll get if another shot. But like I said above... for some people one of these two games may just not click with them for whatever reason. So... it's really just a personal preference on some basic level.

Speaking of the grass..
My memory of the TGC grass was definitely one of higher regard than what I saw in TGC2.
I really thought it looked mostly like garbage, especially with how close the camera it was changing quality (really close)

The same thought crossed my mind. TGC grass was definitely better than what I've seen in TGC2. Again, it makes you wonder what they were thinking.

I agree. What I don't know yet is if this is due to lighting issues or not. But I also think that we've been spoiled by the glimpses of Nvidia Turf. It's kinda like the first time we ever saw HD TV. You just can't go back to SD after that without feeling like it's an inferior experience.

Agreed. When PG 2 is released, PG will be da bomb!
At this point, IO will believe that when I see it. IMO, it is more of an "if" than "when"......so tired of the snails pace of updates. Tired of PG being 2nd fiddle.
Sell the game to a developer that has the resources and people to get it out and compete with JNPG 2 for PC and the consoles.....

Fair points..
Glad you're enjoying TGC2 - I fairly quickly decided that I vastly prefer PG at this time.
Nice to have options

Understandable. But from what I know, it's a "when", not an "if".
Agreed that development pace could faster. But for me, I'm already enjoy the heck out of this game. When PG2 comes out, It'll be icing on a cake.

I gave TGC2 a try, although not awful game the lack of options made me appreciate JNPG all the more. JNPG may be somewhat slow with the development of the game. But TGC2 is so far behind with the lack of basic options expected, it will be years before they catch up.

If they don't get on with this game updating it to pg2 you won't have a game to play soon on PC, i don't know about the simulator side of things?, on console we only have one golf game to play and that's TGC2, i like many others are playing TGC2 because PP didn't follow through with PG for xbox, so it's PP fault we are still playing TGC2, the game sucks big time on console it's true, but ON CONSOLE what other choice do we have?
The deves over on the other forum have turned into EA sports never answer questions about online live play such as match play/4 ball, they said on one of the streams that TGC2 had the same game modes as TGC1, at this point it's a lie they do not have match play/ 4 ball game play as they did on TGC1, at the end of the day IF HBS have blatantly lied about this i won't be happy and WILL get a refund from MS for this as HBS advertised this game mode, and TIM how long would it take for HBS to write a small post saying something like "sorry guys at this point the server problems is why match play/ 4 ball isn't working" or "live match play/4 ball was never going to work in live play sorry" or "this is how you get match play/4 ball to work" simple

When I'm in a big screen / console mode and refuse to move from the living room I still fire up TW 2013 on the Xbox 360, call me old fashioned but I still find it very enjoyable and entertaining enough to scratch my cyber-golf itch when required.
Yeah I know ... I'm behind the times but hey, it still works
So there is still 'some' console choice

ROFL wow i wish MS would bring TW back on backwards compatibility, but i don't think it will ever happen.

seriously, what is there to compete with? TGC is better off the tee, it finally has a bit of variety......and that's about it, it needs a hell of a lot more to bring it up to snuff.
