The ability to move the golfer on the Tees.

i would even settle for something like when you get a drop

5 foot to the right 5 foot to the left,5 foot back buttons.

if they did something like that say in 1 foot increments

should be easy they already know how to move the animation.

and pretty much got the code, with a little editing.

This is already in the game.  If you're a clicker, click the hand icon on the right, hover over the ball and a ball and tee icon will appear.  Click in the new place. :)

I agree!

Ironically, they have this feature included in the recently released arcade golf game Everybody's Golf.  You can also throw up some blades of grass to determine the wind speed and direction.  ;)

It's been in the game for a long time.  Don;t have to click on the hand.  just hover over the ball or slightly behind till it turns to a ball on tee.  then move to where you want and click.

Hehehe ... yeah, I've inadvertently saved lots of shots when intending to continue!  Now, I've shortened the post-shot to 1 second and am contemplating turning it completely "off", since I record my rounds anyway (both in game and with AMD's ReLive).

I really hope they include an option to create our own player with custom club distances.  This would really add a lot to the game.

I would love to see a preshot presentation style so that we are looking at the screen from a first person view for as long as possible until we actually start swinging with the ani visible.

The ani blocks out such a large portion of the screen along with all of the UI stuff.

Why not showcase the courses more by starting each tee shot like this?

yvdlrJt.png

Now that's a golf view.  Beautiful and uncluttered, just like stepping up to the tee in real life.   Need to know the yardage?  Look at your scorecard or the top view (hotkeys please.  For everything.  Let us get all of the stuff off of the screen)

With each tee shot the cursor would start  "ball in hand" (just like moving the ball on the tee) waiting for the player to place the ball wherever they chose on the teebox.

Afterwards, hotkey the club selection/bag option to choose your club.

Hotkey the wind if needed.

The ani only appears as the last step before swinging, just like you taking your stance and preparing to swing.

All of the preshot preparation should take place from our POV with as much of the course in view as possible.

Each shot could start like this.  For approaches and putts just have the camera centered about 10 feet behind and 6 feet high with the ball laying where it is normally without the ani there.

Also, hover menus in game can take care of most of what players need to do.

Hover over the ball at any time for information and/or a graphic representation of the lie.

Hover on the hands for club/shot selection while the ani is onscreen

Hover on the head  to bring up the distance and elevation information.

Optional of course.

Yes to all you said. Make these things optional, and let people play with an uncluttered screen.

That's all we want. Options. Give us menu options. or even an ini file where we can set all sorts of game elements to 0,1 or whatever.

Please don't try and choose for us what we want, because we're not all the same.

Move the bag of clubs and the shot shaper away from the meter.

Do away with the damn caddie. he/she gives you a chip when you want pitch and pitch when you want chip , he/she is a nightmare.

i would like to see them make the meter moveable . as for the clubs i would like to see a bag of clubs somewhere on the screen

change clubs there, shot type and the shot shaper there, more reality, in RL you have to go to the bag for a club. while you are chasing a club you are thinking shot type and placement, seems real on paper.lol

Links was/is picture postcard stuff.  Individual stills from Links look as good if not better than PG !  Granted camera work in PG is way better than Links IMO.  Some courses in PG look worse than the best courses in Links - there I have said it!

We shall agree to disagree.

The hand icon is for if you do not like a ball drop that was taken.  One simply left clicks behind the ball to move it on the tee.  Problem is it rarely has ever worked.  You can move the ball but it drops back at center most times.

I would like to see the shot meter made about half the size of the one we currently have.  A smaller meter would make it easier to snap a shot.  Also fix the problem where clicking anywhere close but not inside the meter making a shot start.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but I played Links from 1990 through to end of 2015 and just curious what stand out options it has in your opinion over JNPG, aside from those I mentioned.

Yup, I know your name Daz.. wouldn't mind listing a few, but I guess the thread needs to stay on topic.   Maybe I throw you a pm?

Great idea, bortimus. Hidden "fly-out" menus on each side could work too. Sorta like FastStone Image Viewer.

Already been mentioned but no harm in mentioning again:

Give us the ability to chose custom tees and custom pins (like you can do in that dirty word - Links).  I don't mean for tournament setup (although yes to that as well) but for multiplayer online whereby 1 player can set up the round exactly how they want and be able to save that setup for when it is used.

If at all possible updates of all existing stock PP courses with reflective water (even if it meant  a small charge to get the reflective version).

Obviously keep the original non-reflective versions as they are now but give folks a reflective alternative like has been done with recent DLC courses.
