It's all volunteer Dave but with that said some these guys on this forum are as good as paid techs imo. Crusher, I know, is one of them and there are others. Just post your problem in tech support thread and in most cases help is there!
I do realize that no ones a specialist here at PG. I do rely on the folks here in the forums for help
I learned a lot with this last problem. my post was not put there to poke at anyone. just an idea

Let's talk about this wind, something is just not right
here is one for you. 233yrd par 3 2' up 18 MPH wind straight in my face
ok I hit 5 wood[230] a full right on the line, both lines and the ball went 257yrds
just ain't right and many times even with a great snap I see no effect from even big winds
other times it is there, also pretty much if you miss the snap the wind is over ridden by the missed snap.

There isn't a lot I need from a new version of PG.
I would like to see an end to flickering graphics.
I would like to see AI making better decisions and their slider settings more accurately affecting their shots.
I would like a reliable 3-click meter that doesn't stutter or slide.
I would like a better multiplayer experience where ping spikes do not pause or stutter the ball flight or completely fail to display the shot at all.
That's about it, really.

Out of interest, which course was this on? Could it have been one at altitude, hence the additional ball carry?
I do agree that the wind effect needs a tweak though.

Cheery Hills 5371, so I guess that is part of the answer

That course is in Denver at 5000 feet. I'm surprised your 5w didn't go further.

I really hope they include an option to create our own player with custom club distances. This would really add a lot to the game.
I would love to see a preshot presentation style so that we are looking at the screen from a first person view for as long as possible until we actually start swinging with the ani visible.
The ani blocks out such a large portion of the screen along with all of the UI stuff.
Why not showcase the courses more by starting each tee shot like this?
Now that's a golf view. Beautiful and uncluttered, just like stepping up to the tee in real life. Need to know the yardage? Look at your scorecard or the top view (hotkeys please. For everything. Let us get all of the stuff off of the screen)
With each tee shot the cursor would start "ball in hand" (just like moving the ball on the tee) waiting for the player to place the ball wherever they chose on the teebox.
Afterwards, hotkey the club selection/bag option to choose your club.
Hotkey the wind if needed.
The ani only appears as the last step before swinging, just like you taking your stance and preparing to swing.
All of the preshot preparation should take place from our POV with as much of the course in view as possible.
Each shot could start like this. For approaches and putts just have the camera centered about 10 feet behind and 6 feet high with the ball laying where it is normally without the ani there.
Also, hover menus in game can take care of most of what players need to do.
Hover over the ball at any time for information and/or a graphic representation of the lie.
Hover on the hands for club/shot selection while the ani is onscreen
Hover on the head to bring up the distance and elevation information.
Optional of course.
For menu items you could have a roll bar at the bottom of the screen. As you hover near the edge a horizontal menu bar scrolls up. You move along it and make your choices. Move the cursor away from the edge and the menu bar rolls away. If necessary there could be sub menu items wich scroll up from the main menu item. A combination of the two would give access to more options than you can shake stick at.
When you've gazed at the uncluttered view of the hole and are reday to play should be able to click on an area which means "address the ball" and the player character walks in from the left, right or back of the tee (make it random for lack of boredom setting in), places the ball and tee on the ground and addresses the ball with the club chosen. Then you tell him to hit it.

Wind variability needs to be made realistic asap. At the moment there's very little which means that those who like to calculate to the n'th degree before taking a shot can actually take all the time they want. No good at all.
Wind needs to vary in direction and speed almost constantly. Even a gentle breeze is likely to do this. Then players would have to make their minds up quicker and shots would vary much more.

The main thing I would love to see in PG2 is the abilty to create your own avatar to your own likeness. I brought The Golf Club 2 and I was amazed by how I could create and customize my player. It made the game far more real feeling because everyone had their own identity within the game. If the new game had that and maybe have courses that are more consistent as far as FPS, I would pay a full $60 or more for that.

more PG tourney's don't get me wrong what we have going on now works good with monthlys
but i believe one of the big draws on TWO was the 8 DAILY 18 hole tourneys HUNDRED'S of people played these.
i played most of the DAILY'S EVERYDAY and so did MANY others. it was something that got people to the game EVERYDAY.
lets face it for this game to become a HIT we need more players and a reason for them to be here playing EVERYDAY.
in other words less dependence on the tourney sites, many more would play without all the travel from site to site to get involved.
and no that is not a dig on those sites as i play PGLS tourneys myself. we just need an easier way to get people involved and that is just not going to happen as long as we depend on you folks at PGLS and OGT for all the fun and they have to leave a PP site to play.
i would think the number 1 rule for a game to be a #1 hit would be to keep the people on your site don't let them leave for anything related to the game have it all at their fingertips without extra log-in's and such.
now i realize PP is a small crew and busy at their other projects that for them to set dailys would be a real PITA.
Crow takes great care of the monthly's and his other duties, i would bet as a volunteer which im very grateful for having around to help keep us busy.
all you guys at PP need to do is find you somemore volunteers teach them how to set tourneys
and the fun roll's on.
also you really need a stats system for tourneys.
i would like to hear from some of the others on here that used to play TWO
about what they thought of the daily's

This reminds me of the time John Daly played in high-altitude (same course, maybe?), and he came up to this 640-yard downhill par 5... Bombed his tee shot a little left cutting the corner, about 420... Found himself in the rough about 200 yards away. Pulled an 8-iron and proceeded to airmail the green on his 2nd... by about 75 yards...
Went to Digital Storm and ordered me up a nice gaming machine
Intel i3 chip at 3.9G
16 gig DDR4 RAM
GeForce 970 GTX 4gig vid card
240G SSD
1TB HD
Windows 10
It's HERE!! JNPG runs great with all the bells and whistles at max or close to it... I still turn 3D render off for the swing, tho.
