JNPG/Pg/Trackman is alive as we speak.  A new version is in the works per the dev team.

I can honestly say PG is moving forward.  The most recent addition being 3d grass.  Therefore, to say this game is dead is simply not true.  So slow progress is still progress none the less.  I'll keep a positive outlook until the gig is up. :)

Agree that activity on this forum is fading away, but its not dead.

I tend to lurk here and not post but I, and I think others are still actively playing

Would I like an enhanced version: Sure

Would I like more frequent progress updates : Sure

Do I still enjoy PG1 : Yes

Do I still Play : Yes

Am I Amazed at what the community course designers produce :  Resounding YES !!! and many thanks

I think we all agree that PG1 is the best! But PG2 would be even better.....

just want to know, Yes or No? Or if Mike or Andrew are too busy....then just say that too.....something......

I'm going with, its still alive (they haven't said no yet) until I hear otherwise.......

Still enjoying PG1 as much today as I did in the beginning.  The course designers continue to push this game forward.  Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Trackman, in conjunction with PG, have quietly been putting something together that could change the face of golf games.  Remember, this game was built around Trackman golf swing data and real world physics.  It's why RTS is such a great mouse swing and why PG does well with sim users.

The fact we haven't heard any news is most likely the best news.

Trackman Virtual Golf can’t use jnpg courses unless it’s been released to them.

Last time this came up there was decent point made about copy rights. In the end, my uneducated interpretation of the discussion was that they might be able to use the fictional courses, but no courses with trademarked names. I don’t really know enough to make an interpretation though LOL

This is probably a good scenario. I also believe if there is a JNPG2 it will only include modern swings mainly RTSM or RTSC as I really believe we have seen the last game with 3C. If the game is made for console and PC it's the logical thing to do and imo should have been that way in the first version. I will get beat up for saying that but the fact is clicking is dead in future golf games and TGC lead the way to that.

Do not say that.  Some higher ups might be listening.   :)     I actually think 3 click will be around on the PC side of this game for years.  But who knows what the future shall bring.

Dennis if I was a developer and I am not there is no way I would put 3C in the game as less than 200 people play it anymore.  It would not be cost effective and for that matter any benefit to put it there when every game is going to the modern swing so why waste time in development with it.  Besides if it is developed it will be primary to the console where the money is and secondary to the PC where the money is not imo.  If you look at TGC2019 its major base is PS4 and Xbox One and its really tough to find a decent community on the PC side yet there are tons on the console so why cater to a PC crowd that's older and stuck playing 3C when there is no money to be made on that side.  To be honest I wouldn't even develop a game for the PC if it was me.  Unlike Links 2003 which had hard copies of the game and the community took the game over there are no hard copies of JNPG so when and if a new game comes out the odds of the server staying up on the it are not good especially when they are trying to sell the new game if there is one.  Look at Links as there are still a diehard 25 or so players playing that game and they will till they die but then again there are hard copies.  I still cant believe that only a handful of players have tried and moved to RTS and the game is totally dominated by 3C but its basically and age thing.  I am 63 but prefer RTS and would rather shoot a 76 like I just did at the PLGS Classic than click but hey that's just me.  If I was told I had to bet the house on if or if not 3C is in the next game my bet would be no it wont.

Well Greens that makes a lot of sence but why develope PG2 for pc and not include 3 click if 85% or so use it in the game? I prefer using motion swing with mouse i have dabbled with the controller can do both but prefer mouse. But like i said if 85% or so old timmers play with 3 click , to say that there wont be 3 click in their next game well the die hard players wont buy it. I think this is probably the last 3 click golf game we will see for the p.c .As you said its all going consoles now but i for one will never play a golf game on a console , its pure arcade golf .P.G team delereved an excellent golf sim the best i have ever played and i have played many going back to the commodore 64, the ball  flight putting and physics are spot on . Lets hope we see PG2  on pc and it includes all swings that the players like to play

25 players?   Sorry, but your numbers are way off..  I am going out on a limb saying that there are more or if not, the same amount of players playing PG that are playing Links.  New courses are still being released, and there appears to be no end in sight...

I check LSPN periodically and last week less than 25 were playing and this week in the main PLSA event 14. The forum is dead and as hard as it is to take there are only a handful left playing Links and I have an old laptop with just about every course ever made. I hate it but I am Just calling what I see.

Since when is LSPN the tell all of who is actually playing Links?   I can definitely agree that perhaps over at LSPN there are 25 players, I have no clue, but that does not mean a lot more are playing offline or connecting IP to IP.    I play the game pretty much ever Friday night with my friends and family, and many are still using Game Ranger to play with others.   In fact, I never even thought about joining LSPN or the forrums..  I have been a long time member of Links Corner and activity there is just about the same as it is here!   And as you know, Links was released years ago!

All I know is one thing... these guys decide to shut down the PG server, everyone is out of the game, with the exception of a few courses that came with the game offline.   Links server shut down years ago, but I still can choose from the hundreds of courses to play whenever I want, offline, online, and even with the very few tours that are still active.   All with the various swing methods too!

If PG2 does away with 3C, so be it... if I decide I like the game enough to change my swing method, then I will do it...

Rob I am not saying its going to happen I am just saying that is my gut and I will also say that the PC side is never going to compete with the console and here is an example.  If you go into TGC2019 and have it for the PC and try and find a decent society to join good luck as the few out there are lucky if they have 20 guys playing.  Now if I fire up my Xbox One or PS4 and go look for a Society on either I finds tons of them with tons of players as even guys here that were playing JNPG are now playing TGC2019 on consoles and not having an issue.  Video Golf doesn't have a big nitch in gaming as it is and I will go out on a limb and say not 1000 people bought in this game and there is no money in that at all.  On the console side its a whole new ball game and there is no clicking there so its just a hunch but again why do something that is not for the masses.  Yes there might be a few like yourself that still play links but that is few and far between and again that game lives due to hard copies of the game.  We act shocked that we dont here from the devs but their base right now is Trackman and the simulator which has way more players than we do playing on a PC.  Everything changes and I still remember seeing Pebble Beach on Links 386 on my Windows 95 first Pentium PC 1 think 75HZ and saying it cant get better than this but it sure did.  I am playing RTSM right now and cant seem to crack par at Pro but I am because that is the future and I wish to play the game in the future and whether with a Mouse or Controller I will be there the question is will it be on PC or Console and my guess is that it will be console.

I wish I still had my 'Andrew-body-with-Ted-face' avatar for this post. That would have got the adrenaline pumping and scrambling to open it.

Let's face reality here my friends (and others). You have to ask yourself if you really believe that that tiny development team would have the resources or the expertise to build a game that was enough of an advancement over PG1 to stimulate the sales that would be needed to justify the exercise. The PG game is already in place that plays well and is probably still selling. The only real 'excitement builder' was 3D grass - and now that there are courses with 3DG and we have seen it in play in PG1 there goes another reason to release PG2.

Do you really think they would bother to go to all the effort of writing new code and spending all that money on motion capture and all the many other aspects of game development and then spending indeterminate hours fixing bugs etc, etc. and so on and so on? There would be none of the things that would make PG2 something that attracts anyone other than the hardcore golf gamer. Why WOULD they bother?

You people who look to that unknown future with misty eyes and that strange longing might as well go back to that other second coming for your beliefs. There's more chance that will happen than PG2.

i dont know what GBR is saying about the societies and being none for the PC player

so here is a video showing the top 40 societies by count. you can only belong to 10 but i do believe

there are many more then 20 people you can see the head count on each of these in the video.

so what he said above about the societies being so small for the PC is a bunch of malarkey

Dave I won't argue the amount but for console its way more players and societies and I own the game for all. Also you don't see 3C there do you. Unfortunately I have to agree with Ted that we will never see JNPG2 and it will be the last game of golf you see that has 3C and I would bet my beach condo on that. Just my 2cents.
