A Fairway Child is different kind of fairway mesh that is used to add a bit of visual diversity to larger, monotonous parts of the main fairway mesh. It's very similar, but a bit discoloured and grungier - you draw it inside an existing fairway to create a bit of a change in feel and look of the same fairway. It has the same terrain physics and the only difference in game is a slightly less monotonous fairway appearance. Imagine it as adding dried-out portions to a fairway.
It's an optional feature you can do without, so no worries.

Now if only they'd have "rough childs" so you can make the rough vary in thickness , but they'd have to allow a different physics model. Actually that would be nice for the fairway child too. Of course a stable LL would be nice too. I've wasted too much time and frustration on the current one.

I think can say in all honesty I have not had a problem with the Layers Library and I have really messed about with it from the start
