You might have a good round but consistently shooting ultra low scores means you have some sort of aid I think. Just my 2 cents because I don't think IN THIS GAME anyways you can keep shooting straight shots at the hardest level no matter how much you practice.
All one has to do is check out the tournament scores on the various tournament sites and you will see what I am talking about. There are a few screenshots in the forums as well. Not all the time though, but it does happen quite often. I don't see how one CANNOT shoot straight consistently, especially after seeing them score something like -52!
Overall for me, scores, competition, being the best isn't for me.. as mentioned earlier, if the game is fun... I am going to buy it. So far, I have read some good things, not so good things, so I will wait a little bit, read more reviews, view more videos, etc. before making my decision.

I think many have misunderstood me so sorry for not clarifying but I was talking JNPG, the hardest level is by far very tough to hit straight consistently. Yes I know about TGC2019 because I tried the alpha and yes it's still way to easy even on the hardest level but I have not played since that alpha because I didn't hear nothing after about open beta or anything so I don't know if they changed it.
Shooting a 52 is not normal even for players that play often and practice often in a VIDEO GAME, your using an aid like an axis shut off, or a 3 inch tall something that goes on your controller stick. People will do WHATEVER it takes to win, no one has any moral anymore especially when you play THAT arcade game.

I tried it..
I don't need more than the one round on their Sawgrass.
I'm just not a TGC guy...it's clear to me now (as before really)
I realize some really find their swing to be "engaging" but I honestly find it to be one gimmick wrapped up in another and yet another and it ultimately is just more convoluted than I'm interested in.
I love RTS-C. I think it's so well done (to say nothing of the phenomenal RTS-M - but I don't play that).
For those that love the new TGC - enjoy..
Maybe I'll try again when/if 2k rubs some of their love on TGC2k20
Also - they need to seriously upgrade the textures in that game on a future version.
(psst...physics are way better in PG also)

The lack of backspin on the irons is a major buzzkill. I can spin back my wedges in real life, why can't I do it in a damn game?
Because the guys who make that game shoot 90 and can't and play on poor turfgrass conditions and don't understand

Yep 52 and even though I can hit it long yet I can't spin shots even with a supersoft ball. I did though hit an 81 though last week at The Links at Northfork here in the Twin Cities (Ok 84 but it would have been an 81 if I hadn't tripled the last hole..lol) but I usually shoot about 87 so I was hitting the ball very good but putting sucked.
The Golf Club 2 is a very good game I think but combined with the ULTRA LOW SCORES on tournaments and the Heaviest primary rough I've ever seen in a golf game I just got tired of it and wanted something funner. I am not sure I want to buy it because I am one of those types that stop playing the other game for awhile and play this one.
Joe, all due respect... if you shot 87 you are not "hitting the ball good" nor do you have the skill set to put spin on the ball.
Good players actually have to worry about too much spin and have to do things to take it off to back hole locations etc.
From a good lie, with a good golf ball and a talented player anything 7 iron and up should stop within a foot or two of where it lands or be considerably behind it. I play on Zoysia fairways often and can spin 9 irons 20+ feet, often to my chagrin.

Luckily not an issue whatsoever in TGC 2019! lol ![]()

They've never understood physics from a iron/green receptiveness standpoint and I still think it's because there aren't any strong players in the studio.

I average between 85-90 and trust me I get spin on my ball. Let me guess you shoot 69 from the tips in the rain with 20mph winds.
I'm a +1 so yeah that does happen. So what? I've hit a zillion golf balls in my life, anyone that did the same would have similar results. I also have a circle of people with some of those guys that kick my butt. I just caddied for one of them in the PGA a few weeks back (he missed the cut, probably caddies fault lol).
You play in Colorado, impressive you spin it there since you lose some due to the altitude and changes on launch physics. You must be a bad putter ![]()

When I played a lot I had a 7 hndcp with a best round of 76 (par 72). I've probably broken 80 about a dozen times in 32 years of playing. I'm happy to break 90 these days. I shot an 81 two years ago.
If you really are a +1 than you are in the top 1% of golfers. The average golfer is terrible. I'm usually a single and even at a 17 or so hndcp I beat the players I'm paired with more often than not.

Just played my first two rounds - as I expected, it's really nothing more than DLC. The PGA tour stuff is pointless, it's still easier to hit a sand wedge 30 yards offline than a driver (great physics), and the bunkers still look like turds.
The menus are much nicer, sound seems to be good
Crowds, still stupid, and hideous. I made better sprites on Commodore 64
Chipping seems better, flop is still heinous

I just don't get to play much. I've played 8 times this year and that's 5 more times than last year. My wife travels a lot for work so in addition to working full time most weekends I have my child with me and she's not quite ready to play golf.

I hit 600 balls a day from age 12-19 and spent about 12 hours total at a golf course
I live on a golf course
I purposely had no children so I could spend time on... golf courses ![]()
I do ok, especially for someone who doesn't work at it like the old days. It's not bragging, many people are better than me. I watched Patrick Rodgers (local kid) grow up and go from hitting driver 150 and shooting 100 to being on the PGA tour in about a 6 year period. He plays a totally different sport than I do.
I play with a guy who carries the ball 350, all day long, he plays a different sport than I do ![]()
I leave my office and am on the first tee at 4:15, and play til dark, at least 4 days a week. I've been blessed to be able to belong to clubs that allow quick play, and amazing practice facilities. The avg golfer doesn't have those types of places that often. To be able to go to a short game area and hit chips for 2 hours and not worry about anything but getting better.
That said, you and I do not hit the ball the same. I'd bet lunch your hands are a foot away from your body when mine are about 2" the entire swing. We do not compress or spin the ball the same. And that's all I was saying.
But they have spin all wrong in TGC 19, which would have been expected. They've never had it right to begin with ![]()

I got a hole in one on my 6th round. What a joke. On an official course so I got a 75 point achievement out of it.
BOOM!
That’s almost a Bose “heartbeat moment”!

Not to get off topic, but I don't consider guys who shoot in the 80s or 90s 'terrible'. Golf is a sport that literally measures your score against the perfect way to play a hole, and when you consider the physics of the golf swing and the size of the ball and the amount of things that can go wrong, and the struggle just to find the time to play 18...if you've dedicated yourself to golf to the point where you're shooting in the 70s, that's great, but it doesn't mean the player who shoots 85 is a mug. Play him/her in match play and it'll be more interesting.
