Is Wendy still making courses over there? he/she made about 3 for TGC and they were all no frills realistic designs, loved all of them.  Arctic fury has some lovely courses in terms of looks but i have yet to play a course of his i really enjoyed in a golfing sense.  Cannuck and taste are another two that plant beautifully without ever nailing a clutch of well designed holes, then you have reeb who is ok but has this obsession with super long courses.  I do like Mikemike's courses, he keeps it simple but designs pretty well, as does Biggins, but he's given up i think.

I'm not sure I've ever played anything from Wendy.  Cannuck's courses are good enough but I do agree with your comment regarding the design side of things.  MikeMike's courses are awesome.  I've REALLY enjoyed the two he has out there right now.  Taste and Reeb are both talented designers.  I like Carmel by Taste and I used to LOVE one of Reeb's courses that he hasn't ported to TGC 2019 yet (can't remember the name but it was  fall theme course and reminded me of something I'd see in the Carolinas).  But most of their stuff I leave behind honestly.

I play without assists which means I usually need a course that resembles something you'd see in real life.  I can't stand some of the course that are 100% doglegs or double doglegs or split//multiple fairway landing options all over the place.  With TGC's crappy overvhead map and not using the scout camera (personal choice of mine) those types of courses are very frustrating to play at best.

No sound? you had me thinking there for a sec if there was indeed sound when putting...and of course there is :) a hearing aid may be in order sam, or better speakers.  TGC's sounds are generally louder by default but PG sounds are fine as far as i can tell.  I do like the idea of crowds but the crowds in TGC all wear super bright colours that look awful, would be so much better if they wore normal people's clothes, they actually detract from the look of the game imo.  As for commentator John, i guess its ok for the people who can stomach it for more than a few rounds, i muted him after 2 rounds, which is pretty much what most players do.

Yeah, some of the commentary is a little stale after awhile. And his accent is weird.... is he Irish or Canadian, or something in between (Newfoundland?)

Now I'm gonna have to buy TGC 2019 because M Rose and DoGgs are designing there. 2 of the best in JNPG for sure.

I assume you guys are just doing fictional work over there because of the lack of lidar data?

One thing I especially like with the TGC courses that I don't see much of in the PG courses are the panos (panoramas, back drops, etc.).  They are 3D looking and really help to create more immersion on the course for me.  B)

You could be right about me needing an earing aid LOL, yes I had the same sound setting as TGC never thought to turn up the volume. My wife keeps having to tell me the same thing 3 times before I realise what she said (selective hearing LOL.)

I am so glad Dogs that you and MATT are designing for TGC now, I think you are wasting your talents on PG because I can see no future for the game going forward.

Off to try out your courses right now....

Cool - looking forward to it

Sorry Buck, I haven't gotten around to doing this yet... life happened and some of my fiendish plans went awry!  Hopefully, I can make it happen today!  ;)

The only time I notice sounds don't play in PG is if I hole out a chip, flop, bunker shot and occasionally a putt. Then there is no ball dropping into hole sound.

Add one more vote for matt's casa verde, it is a great course.

It's on sale on Steam for $29.99 if anyone is keen to give it a go that doesn't yet own it.

I finally got a round in on Matt's first release for TGC 2019, Casa Verde.

I scored a -6 using Master clubs and that is a very good score for me.  There was very little wind which helped me immensely.  ;)

This course was a joy to play and view.  It was very natural looking and reminded me of some of the beautiful courses we have here in Michigan.

I'm looking forward to more courses from Matt for TGC 2019.  B)  :)

Please post here when you release them. I've been playing the snot out of Casa Verde.

Also, if anyone is looking for a good RCR, try Kiawah Ocean Course. No clue who did it but it's spot on and fantastic!! It's also super challenging as is the real thing.

All good man - hardly pressing..

Funny, you and I both seem to have just logged in at the same time here

Okay, here's a shot at posting the screens... I'd forgotten how to do it and I'm still fumbling with it, but now that I'm only three days from early retirement, I need to learn how to do this more often.  :)  I can't for some reason get my One Drive images to post here as images, but hopefully you can see them by clicking on the links.  I'm about to experiment with them myself and see if I need to do some more editing.

Oh, now I'm getting the message that I can't use that image extension for this community.  I'll see if I can't PM you something...

Okay, it looks like it went through to you as a PM.  I've got to re-educate myself on how to use my virtual web server that's part of my ISP services, along with my FTP client that I've forgotten the password for.

Buck, if you can view the images I sent you in a PM, if you can figure out a way to post them here as images, I'd appreciate it!  This time next week I hope to know how to do that myself.... again  B)

Mark, we're going to be playing next week's DSP - Digital Sportspage Society tournament at the release version of  Matt's Casa Verde.  Hope you'll join in!  Matt, Casa Verde BETA got rave reviews from our members during the Daily tournament we played there last week!
