unless they have figured out how to randomly generate textures without a  pattern, then this is absolutely overlay.

I sure see the patterns (have to be quick and/or slow the video down and pause it throughout the video)

Should there be perfect fairway mow lines on the green at 17?  (asking)

It doesn't really look like the crosshatch one might expect (and sees in some real life photos) -- looks more like the general TGC mow lines that are all over their courses.

Thankfully they are toned down (this is what creates some of the Mario Golf effect they had issues with in the past)

@Skunky - Don't get me wrong - I'd love to have their courses look better and use overlays and have way more of the individuality of PG courses -  and all that.

I guess I'm just not seeing what you're seeing.  Hope you're right!

What I do see are the same weird angles and not correctly shaped areas (due to course creator) and same zombie people that TW had 10 years ago (among other things that look the same from 2019 to me)

Notice some of the areas (see arrows) that are still identical from 2019 and still incorrect also though?

After all that - I do want to say something 100% positive..

I think it's really cool that 2k21 is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

That will be awesome for a lot of people.

It's been confirmed in a Twitter thread by one of the devs that it's coming to PC.  Shaun did say in his podcast interview last month that "some content" was coming.  I think that content is probably more officiallly licensed PGA TOUR courses and perhaps the likenesses of a few PGA TOUR players, and maybe all of their names for PGA Career mode.  I'm curious to see what surprises may await on the 14th, but the more the phrase "some content" resonates in my mind.  Some content doesn't connote "revamped swing interface" or "new graphics engine" to me.

I can't say that I'm not somewhat excited by this, given the fact that I wasn't sure we'd see anything in the golf game market for at least a year.

I wonder if it’s got the same crappy bunkers?

Unless HB improves the visual quality of the ocean water (currently it's ugly and amateurish), the game will always be mediocre.

Your basing the game off the visual quality of the ocean water? 🤣

Shame HB are still onboard, they will stick to the same old format for the short game, and with that goes any thought of buying into it.  Will they put any feel into the shots? i know what my money is on.

I gave you Brian Jeffords name in PM at OS because I'd forgotten where I read the question.  I should add that Brian is not a regular TGC Twitter poster, but he has chimed in with solid info a time or two over the span of TGC 2 and 2019.

Sure is, but with HB Studios course DNA engine, I've given up any hope of ever seeing anything of that caliber in a TGC/PGA2K21 game.

I agree with Buck in that the short video doesn’t look any different than TGC2019. However, I believe that we will see improved graphics along with improved gameplay for PGA Tour 2K21.

We’ll know more on May 14th. ;)

I hope so - but I don't know how confident I am in it.

I hope they are pulling a massive head fake here and that video is all TGC 2019 and not at all what 2k21 is going to be.

How awesome would that be?

It looks like an upgrade, but not a terribly significant one.

I'll buy it anyway cause I'm a junkie for this sort of thing.

The bottom line with TGC, and always has been...every shot is based off 100% hits, if they fail to change this then nothing changes with the game, its really that simple.  Will they also put some thought into career mode this year?  Make the difficulty more nuanced rather than how hard the wind blows.  Will the A.I. be able to perform on custom courses?  they barely break par in the current game at the hardest difficulty.

These are the two key areas for me, eye candy and licensing are secondary...BTW there is no overlay at play here, i'm not seeing it at all in that short presentation, just looks like the current game to me.
