Just a quick note guys, after a few life changing months i have some free time so i have started adding events to PG exiles if anyone is interested in still playing in the society.  I have revamped the settings and they are as follows...

Pro difficulty

No scout cam

No yardage ( book only )

No power meters for tee, fairway or greens  ( power bar gives a huge advantage when putting and removes any skill and judgement, so away with it we go )

No wind data, only meter

No Lie grid

No elevation data

Green grid remains on as the textures in 2k21 do not help when determining green breaks

Feel free to not bother if these settings do not appeal, i usually play master with these settings on but pro is way more forgiving and these measures will hopefully bring about more varied and interesting play, you get used to it quite quickly anyway so i'll leave it and see if we get any interest.  I have set up a 3 day event at Bay hill starting Friday and running for 5 days.

I will be back in

What I’m saying is that devs only put x amount into a game to develop then reap the rewards and move on. Sim community’s in general rely on users to keep their favorite sim afloat. EA didn’t stop making golf games due to users creating better courses than the devs. It’s all about money period.

I mentioned PG as they sought the opportunity to make money off of their product. Not because user x creates better courses. So give the user all the tools they can to keep said sim/game going. What I don’t understand is why you think giving users the ability to create content for said game results in the devs giving up on it. That just isn’t true.

I assume your last comment was directed at me. I don't believe I ever implied that the Devs of PG gave up on Perfect Golf. I personally canot say that that is what happened, simply because I don't know what happened. Do you? What I will say however, in the last 8 or 9 years since PG came on the scene, it is virtually the same sim that it was in 2012 barring a few minor updates. I would say that a realistic observation would force one to conclude that this project for all intents has been abandoned. I think that many in this community would agree with that. We don't have to call it "Giving Up", let's just say ignored or put asside. Sounds a little better than giving up, don't you think?

A lot of comments about the 2k21 have been laid down in this forum in regards to the PGA 21 game. This sim does not get my blood racing. It is just that, another simulation attemting to be King of the Hill. The biggest drawback for me is although it offers a CA, it is really quite basic. In other words, don't give the public any kind of standout architectual tools and textures to work with because the community will turn out better courses than the guys that get paid to do this. This happened in Links as well as Tiger Woods. I will say this: at least they learned their lesson. Simply put, the more leaway that is given to the public in course design on any platform, will inevitably result in a slow death for the developers and whatever golf sim is offered to the public. It's almost a "Catch 22" senario.

In this post you wrote. Your claiming that users who create better content than the devs are the reason games/sims die out. If you believe this then you don’t understand how sim communities work. The end users are the reason that these games/sims are still being played. EA, PP etc.... did what the did due to money. Tiger Woods was nowhere near what he was 20 years ago. EA loses money and they get out of the series. PP sold and made some cash outta the deal. Again, your claiming users with tools to create content are killing off games. No, money kills off games.

Were you asleep when you read my post?  So what the hell are you thinking??

So, yes... I probably just woke up and misread your post.   And good points, thanks for the clarification.  Apologies..

So if money is the issue, I think that the responsible and proper thinng would have been for the Devs to explain to this community what the future if any is still on the horizon. Numerous members of this community have literally pleaded with  them repeatedly to inform us as to why this platform has virtually been in limbo for almost a decade. This is not an unreaonable community request. If PG is dead tell us. If there is a chance of revival and a PG2 platform inform us as to what it is going to take to make it a reality. I am sure the community would support this undertaking in a reasonable financial way or any other way if needed. The only thing that we hear from that side of the fence is "Cickets".

I agree that an explanation would be a kind gesture. But, I don’t think one will be made. They don’t owe us anything. We all paid to use their software and that’s about it. They saw an opportunity to a payday and jumped onto it.

This is not a matter of anybody owing anything to anyone else. I am not even looking for an appology for the way this was handled. I have known MJ for over 20 years going back to the Arnold Palmer and Microsoft era of the Links franchise. When Microsoft sold the game to another company whos name escapes me at the moment, we who were part of the Links Community discussed purchasing the 2K3 game rights from this company because they did nothing with it. Time went by and rumors started to surface that the actual game code to the 2K3 platform had been lost. So we as a community were out of luck in trying to make substantial upgrades to the now aging platform. Mike proceeded to inform us that he and several other persona were in the process of developing a new golf sim under the name of Perfect Parallel. Knowing Mike as the master of course design, we were all exited and optimistic about having a first rate golf simulation. It certainly still has the potential of being exactly that. All I want the Devs to do is be upfront and relay to this community what is it going to take if possible to finally release PG2. If it is impossible, I would like to hear that as well. No hard feelings, just say something to settle this thing once and for all

I fully understand that part of it Buck. That does not excuse the fact of nobody lending an explanation to any future plans if indeed there were any. This is total abandonment of a platform and there should at the very least be a clarification by the Devs as how we ended up with a forum, a collection of courses we have to fetch from other sites and of course good old Steam allowing you online play, trouble free if you are lucky. The only thing I would like is closure.

No, it doesn't excuse it.

But it's over

Good lord guys - we need to hang it up.

We have turned into, literally, the old man yelling at a cloud.

It.. Is.. Over..

Want closure?

Basically all the good course designers are gone and working for Trackman now.

Everyone of stature has left the building...we just need the last person to turn out the lights.

Jurgie 'ol boy..

It'd be like this..

Imagine your wife left - 3 years ago now....she doesn't take your calls or talk to you either.

For a while her friends still talked with you, but now even they have gone.

But you are still in the old house you shared, waiting by the phone, looking for "closure".

She isn't coming back.

All that's left is to leave.

I gave up on this months ago and although i did try and rekindle a return it just felt stagnant and same old.  I dabbled with 3 click for a short while but the lack of feel bored the hell out of me.  I could have tried RTSM or MS but my PC is not setup up in that way, its more like a console and although the controller dispersion effect is done well in PG, it does however start to become a case of playing the same old shots without being able to vary much, there's not a lot of shot creation going on, 2K21 suffers similar issues with controller.  When i first started playing EA's Rory offering i initially enjoyed it, put everything on tour pro and partials were better than both this and TGC, the one big flaw with that game though was that it was way too easy even at the tour pro.  With Tiburon being involved once more with the new game i have my reservations as to whether they will dumb that one down too.  If you could combine PG's nuanced controller dispersion with Rory's better partial shot ability you would have a decent game.

DoGs, got a question for you or anybody else in the know for that matter. I am in the market for a wireless controler that is adaptable to both console and computer use. I don't want crap but don't want one that costs an arm and a leg. Any ideas?
