Looks amazing!! How is it on fps compared to unity 4?

For me personally my fps are taking a bit of a hit. That said, it's too early to tell. There are various settings that have been added and tree lod detail has replaced billboard distance. Hopefully with a little more experimentation I'll be able to figure out what might be causing my fps decrease.

Putting is a whole new ball of wax. I suspect some will love the change in that it's considerably more difficult without the flag icon and others will be moaning every time they three putt. I will say this, reading how much to add or subtract for uphill and downhill putts is more difficult as well. ;)

On a level surface, how far does a 100% putt go?  And 2 foot putt do you have to quick click then?

Currently, and it's subject to change I would assume. 9 oclock is around 30 ft. and straight up 12 around 60 feet. For putts longer than that your going into the danger zone. Very hard to judge,(as it should be).

Is there just one putting meter, or is there another for shorter range putts? It's going to be awfully difficult to 3 click for a 2 footer with just one full size meter.

I've already made this suggestion. (as have others). But it's just a suggestion, I have no idea whether the guys plan on implementing it. ;)

ok, here are some more. I took these on Ultra high, all sliders to the right and almost all options enabled. I hope these give you a better idea on how the graphics look like...

Thank you fungolfer. I must say from these screenshots the new lighting looks fantastic.
The textures have always looked nice from this distance do they look better close up now?
I am looking forward to trying the new putting as I was never a lover of the old method.

We haven't implemented any 3d grass at this point but we have added bump mapping to the bunkers which gives a much more realistic experience. We had had several goes at implementing 3d grasses but nothing is really working well. We will keep trying.

Some higher res images would be nice, these are way too small.

Yes, there is only one putting meter at present.

This is Early Access so every possibility that another meter may be introduced at some point to replace the existing one or even the switch to 2 putting meters, like the 25ft and 70ft meters Links has.

Try not to see what is in the new U5 build when it comes to everyone as being a finished article.

Could PP just not increase the usuable distance of the meter to 360 degrees rather that the 180 degrees it is at present?

Oh no. I'm hyperventilating. I'm seeing all my dreams of a new vision in golf simulations disappearing in a maelstrom of smoke into the awful past.

Eventually I don't really want a meter of any kind in the game. When we have a real-time avatar we won't need one, but in the mean time we will have to use some kind of meter.

Well in the meantime we have a fine alternative. I get nervous when developers become reactionary. They are reacting to what (or whom)? Just consider that. I would like to see a long debate - sensible debate - before I could possibly endorse, in my own humble way, a system that had two (or more) meters for putting. Two meters is two too many in my decreasingly humble opinion. I would rather wear a tutu than have that.
