The Highs - a very nice 34' Birdie on H11 and 38' Par save on H13
The Lows - In the water TWICE on the 16th taking a 7 to spoil a really promising round!

But still a a better score than before so I have to be happy .... sorta lol.

68            @ Florida Glades

Finally cracked FG.  Birdies on 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 15, 16. Birdie putt on 17 hung on the lip. Was 6 under with a drive in the middle of the fairway on 18 and went in the water for a double. Hubris.

Black Swan:  -20 (70) Unfortunately closed before I could look at my stats but I know that it was a better driving display and made some long par saves.

69              @ Illinois

Wide fairways, generous greens but hard to get birdies. Birdied 11, 15 and 17.

Can't hit greens. Chipping most holes but at least my chipping's improving.

Score Update - Florida Glades  69  (-3)

3CL - PRO - BLI

Hurrah ... my first round below 70 in Pro settings and as you can imagine, I'm very happy  :)
I think I got some inspiration from playing my round whilst watching the UK Open on telly hehe.

I started well dropping in 2 birdies, that gave me a real boost into the round and do my best to keep good course management, had some good scrambles and a few crucial lag putts.

I also played Crystal Pines earlier this morning to try and better my current posted score .... but let's not talk about that ....  <_<

Hidden Canyon 67 (-5)

Unbelievable 28 ft putt from off the green on the last hole for a birdie after a bogie on the 17th.

Usual settings, calm, medium pins s=10. Played the par 3s really well today leaving myself putts under 10 ft on two of them. Love it when an iron shot flies straight. Such a good feeling. :)

Great round MWP. Nice start and welcome. Board updated soon.

Hidden Canyon is giving me the heebees. I can have a round where I'm hitting it straight but I'll be coming up short or hitting it long. Those elevations are throwing me. Then my swing will go off and I can't hit a fairway or green. I can manage mid to low 70s generally but I'm not getting close to managing a birdie. I'm reluctant to leave HC and try elsewhere because I want to get it off my list. I must say that the textures of the putting surfaces are superb though.

Replayed Massachusetts.   38-37=75  +3  Breezy Med Champ tees stimp 10 NPM MS.  575 fairways 56% greens and 1.72 putts.   Bettered by only one and boggied 3 holes down the stretch which killed the round.  Will give it another go as I know there is a round of Par or better there I just have to concentrate for 18 holes.

67           @ Hidden Canyon

32 on the back nine. Held it together then a nice run of birds on the back. Not hard greens at medium but I kept sinking those 16 footers. The previous round I was -4 after four holes but completely blew it. never give up I suppose.

OK G.......I can get back to your comp now that I've put that one away.

First round with two eagles.

Illinois replayed.  35-35=70 -1  MS BLI Calm Med Stimp 10 NPS.

71% Fairways

67% Greens

1.61 Putts

Ave Drive.  267

Finally I break par at Illinois and best my first score here by 8 shots.  Really tired of playing from the long grass and played very conservative off the tee and kept the ball in the short stuff and just made a lot of one putts to save pars and made the birds when the opportunity was there.  Only played with Pro guy as I left the other two with the Beer cart and concentrated fully on the one guy.  The lob shot has been a weapon for me and I am slowly coming to trust the pitch more and more also and the short game as a whole is starting to take shape but still must get more distance off the tee as some of these course require that and in rut as I go from 199 at 4I to 218 at 2H and 3W at 247.  The trick has been the 3/4 shot where you have to master that as there is to many holes out here especially the par 3's that are in that in between club mode.  Getting better tho.

Well done G..........

I'm finding my game around the greens is problematic. I'm chipping ok from the fringe and have mastered the distance control almost. I'm still running through the green too much though. Pitching is fine. I've been too scared to use the lob shot. Didn't they introduce a skulling chance? My splash shots from the bunker have me bamboozled. I'm always short and the caddy advice distances don't seem to measure up - by a long way. More practice needed I suppose. My worst or most annoying problem is getting the tempo right on all those shots. Those 30 deg. misdirections are a bit too prevalent to be realistic in my view (compared to long shots). I've never mishit a short iron by that much that regularly in real life. Still...tempo has gotta be tighter.

I'm also driving shortish. I'm just not prepared to risk anything over 100%

I'll update the board now.

Ted most of the time if I go over 100% I am three fairways left or right and I must keep it under that mark to keep control. The short game does require patience and yes that miss direction can still rear its ugly head but it's better to me than before. I love the lob shot and it is tough but can very reliable if done right. I always put the ball at top of circle to get the max loft and a 60W from 82 ft can be quite accurate. The pitch shot was the hardest but I am getting better with it as 9:00 on a flat surface with a 56w gets about 75 to 80 ft with roll. The real scary one to me is the putter at 12 stimp as it is really quick at normal and will make Augusta look easy when they get firm fixed. I am beginning to think that Mod. and Min. are the same as Max and Pro as I see no difference in the levels. Min and Pro are identical and I can't see a difference and the same with Max and Mod. Just my two cents.

70          @ Willow Heath

Could have been better. 31 on the front but unravelled a bit after that. ( a bit !?)

Had a nice swing rhythm going early with a new counting technique helped by my bass player's groove but I'm blaming the psycho lead guitarist for wrecking the outro.
