I noticed DX 11 appeared to be a minimum requirement to play TGC, is it the same with PG, I think it was funGolfer that stated we all have win 7  I don't, and I don't have DX 11 only 10 with my Nvidea GTS 8800 640, Do I need a DDR 5 Vid card to play this or that.

I know Mike said that they are designing the game for all systems, but all games do have at least one minimum requirement.

Sorry, I ment the testers. We, the testers (most of them), run Windows 7 :) Sorry for the confusion...My answer was for Post #47 from g3b who asked for Windows 10 :)

Edit: Bruce, look at my signature, I run a 640GT (DDR3) and I can play the game in very good quality.

Who cares...

I am just a little weary of playing through a third party after using Origin for TWO.  I never felt that secure using Origin.  I know nothing about Steam and would be happy not to need to learn anything.

Ron

Ron, like a few have said here, I've used Steam for a few years and have no issue with it.  There is not much of a learning curve to worry about... once you set up an account and buy the game, you just log in and click on your game and it launches.

You can show your support by commenting on our Steam 'Greenlit' page. The more people we get on board the better or chances of a successful release:

I take I I have to join the steam community to make a comment. Also many thanks for the replies on my question regarding DX 11, I would have W 7 Ultimate, as I have Vista Ultimate, if I could afford it, Cheers FunGolfer, for clearing that one up, my Bad.

I Guess I should download and instal Steam but I would rather wait till the sim is out their in one form or another before I do, I have no interest in anything they offer, except Golf, and perhaps Cricket, which us Aussies are mad for. lol.

Just signed up with Steam in an attempt to show my support.  Unfortunately, I couldn't fathom the process which would allow me to leave such a comment - most confusing.

Third person view is watching yourself and 1st person is looking through your eyes. We will have the ability to drop into first person view and walk around the course at any time but we're still considering whether to actually have a 1st person view mode while swinging.

Sounds great to me - a first person view when it's your turn and a third person view when watching your friends'/opponents'/partners' swing.  :)

As for the mouse or motion swings and seeing/watching an avatar/animation, is this necessary?  In my opinion, the feel of the length of your mouse swing would hopefully be sufficient to achieve a reasonable outcome with the shot.  It would take practice to determine how to best move the mouse to obtain the desired result.  This is all speculation on my part, though.  It seems like it would possible, though.

I am still waiting to purchase a new computer, probably until this game is released (perhaps at early access, not sure).  My current desktop is 11 years old and my laptop, although only 3.5 years old, were unable to adequately handle the alpha "driving range" application - especially graphically.   While I'm certain that almost anything I would purchase today would be sufficient, I am unsure if I should buy a replacement desktop or laptop.

Armand, we have done a lot of optimisation since then and we now have a complete graphics options system in the game so you can fine tune how it runs on a variety of machines so you may find your laptop can run it fine once you dial the settings down a little.

As for the motion swing, I think it's important that people have feedback on their mouse swing until we have the avatar in there. As everyone has different sensitivities and different types of mouse I think it's unfair to have to get them to 'learn their mouse' so for the time being we have an indicator of how far you mouse swing is.

As for the first person view when playing multiplayer, you will be able to go into first person mode whenever someone isn't hitting but will be taken back to their view once their swing is in progress. The ultimate goal once avatars are in there will be to let you have the option for you to watch your opponents game much like you do in real life from your own view while preparing for your next shot.

My video card on my laptop is dying anyway .... red and greed dot patterns appear over the HDMI output display (I haven't tried the VGA output, but it's now on my to-do list!).  It's probably time for something new anyway, even if the laptop can reasonably run the game.

:)

I'm really pleased to read this... it's something I've been longing for in computer golf games since I saw how well Front Page Sports Golf worked in multiplayer online in 1997!  We sort of got a teaser glimpse of this in PGA Championship Golf 2000, but it only happened if you happened to be in the right place at the right time.   IMO, watching your opponents playing their shots from your golfer's perspective will take the first-person experience to another level!  I've always felt like I was in my opponents huddle, watching my opponents execute their swings from their swing camera view.  Huuuuuuge news!  :)

I like the idea of 1st person golf. I owned a game titled Prostroke Golf which used this view. Although the game was awful, I really liked the feeling of actually playing the course myself, rather than watch an avatar play it. Another good point about a 1st person view is that, as you look downwards to the ball, you can adjust your feet, hand, club face and ball position with going to a sub-menu.
I used to use a mouse for the swing but since the release of TGC I now use, and prefer, an Xbox or PS controller.

I have this game as well!   the overall game was terrible, but playing the golf was fun!  check out the video I put up on YT.   I thought this was actually alot of fun and something different.

I don't think you should say anything about when a release date may be at all but just keep us posted as to what you are doing regarding the golf game and if you are actually still planning to release a golf game and that is it - You are are almost a year past your original release promise that you boldly posted on your website AND kept up on your website for months after its deadline had passed so perhaps only give us the truth not what your hopes are just the truth.

The story goes that during a Tonight Show appearance, Arnold Palmer was asked by Johnny Carson if he had any good-luck rituals. The golfer replied, "Yes, my wife kisses my balls." To which Carson supposedly quipped, "I'll bet that flutters your putter."

Little known fact when King Arthur was trying to make a golf course and he ran into some conflict. King Arthur: There's a peace only to be found on the other side of war. If that war should come I will fight it!    Other important fact. Read the Book of John in the Holy Bible.

I had a much earlier edition of this game before John Daley got involved. I would be very happy if this method of playing got another outing with Perfect Golf.
