The 'double wait' is far worse than the original wait for the next update. I think there might have been a 'triple wait' with this one. Carumba!
Maybe they shouldn't announce an update until within about 30 or 45 minutes of it's release - and maybe in the dead of night.

Good point Ted but then there would be moans that the devs don't give us any information. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Ahh, were it so easy. The thing is we test away, everything is looking great and then someone stumbles upon another little bug. With so many control methods, MOP's, recorded rounds and shots, physics and ani tweaks to be tested in a myriad of combinations not only does it take time but something may not be found until the last minute. A fix is applied and we test again. And when all is said and done there may still be a few little buggers hiding somewhere in the depths of the game. Better to wait and release when all the obvious bugs have been dealt with rather than listening to the chorus of "they shouldn't have release it. It's still buggy!".

That's reasonable and completely acceptable. I think the issue (once again) is one of communication or complete and utter lack thereof.

I never know when to say anything or not. Sometimes, I say something and then get asked questions I can't answer. I thought we were ready to go last Friday and then a test revealed bugs. Those got squashed and then more bugs on Sunday. It just takes a long time to test out all the different combinations of things before they can release something that isn't going to break the game for a bunch of people.

Completely understand. Most people are plenty patient as long as they are told what's going on. Announcing a pending release and then going silent for several weeks is simply going to generate questions from those that are in the dark. It's not your job to figure out how to communicate to the community. That's PP's job.

Pretty much all the time, bugs are found. You can't really communicate that in any useful way. Most can be fixed in a few minutes or hours. Others can be illusive and take much longer but there is no way to know that. Some are fixed but then create new ones and some cause old ones to re-appear.

Sure it can be communicated. Honestly, if one of the devs simply posted what Crow did then the problem is solved.
I get what you're saying and I appreciate that it takes time to solve the issues. I don't think anyone is complaining about that. But when someone says an update is coming and then weeks go by with no news... people will ask questions.
It's simply a matter of better communication.

Just to add on to that point, I had a PM with one of the Dev's that communicated to me that bugs were popping up and slowing down the release and perhaps a modified release might be in order for the short term.
That should just be posted in here and not require solicitation.
(which really is just bothering a busy Dev and taking time to reply to me. That was not my goal, but after enough time goes by you are left to wonder, what happened with the update?)

It's been 10 days since they announced the update was coming. What are you smoking that's playing tricks with your perception of time?

Announced 23rd
24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 1, 2, 3, 4
Now 5th
So between 11 & 13 days depending upon how you look at it.
And it's not coming today I assume, so it's going to be "weeks" tomorrow
But snark aside - the point was "it was a while ago"

I know I am anxious for the release of the new update. Chopping at the bit to be honest. But as a realist I also know coding/programming takes time to get it right. So I will patiently wait for a smooth running finished product.

That's a good point Axe!
Perhaps paring down the scope of updates would make it more manageable to implement, test and also more easily determine if new bugs have crept in?
