I feel the change in this version is going to make major changes on Leader Boards too. I can hear the mumbling from here.

I understand that flop and pitch shots were too easy, but talk about a knee jerk reaction. You miss the snap by .25 in tour pro and it only goes about 60%. That's freaking BS!!!. I'm sorry, but flopping isn't supposed to be harder than real life. Don't even get me started on the complete crap shoot that is bunker play now. I was never a big pitch fan so I can't speak for that. Never thought I'd start looking at the golf club again.

Before leaving to use the controller swing at TGC try the RTS-C here. Chalk and cheese!

I find it strange that anyone would hide their friends list. I think it's just plain smart to keep one's profile public.
You can blame peoples fear of being hacked or their identity being stolen for most of that, whether that is rational or not. Plus, some people simply prefer some privacy for reasons that are hard to articulate. Also, add in the fact that parents might require their children to keep there profiles private when they get a STEAM account at a young age. If you really think it through it is not so strange at all.
Everyone's experience is different. That is why cookie cutter mentality usually fails in many ways in the real world environment.

I'm probably not going to leave. I'm hoping they will find a middle ground. I understand that a missed snapped fat/thin needs to be punished and go to shots should be risky, but jeez flop and bunker shots just seem like playing the lottery. There doesn't seem to be any reliable measure of what to expect. To some degree that's good, but I believe they went too far. It's really not about score as I shot a -2 at Quaker Ridge on the 3c tour today.

You can get the side view for putting by changing your club, cycling to the side view and then choosing your putter again.

Really like most of the changes that have been implemented with the new update a lot. It feels much more realistic particularly on the greens.
As others have pointed out already changes made for short play and here especially the bunker play might be over the top though. I've made dozens of bunker shots on several courses now and have still no feeling for it at all. Yes before the recent update it might have been too easy at least for us 3 clickers but now it can get really nasty. Only the slightest change of the snap point can have tremendous consequences. Maybe it's possible to find a healthy compromise between before and now.
Apart from that I have the feeling that update gives the game a welcomed push. Thank you for all your hard work. Looking very much forward to everything that will come in future and cross my fingers we will see a career mode someday.

I didn't realise playing the flop shot in real life was easy, lol. I play off 5 handicap and cannot pull the shot off on a regular basis where I'm guaranteeing a kick in from a few feet. I've had numerous sculled efforts and also ones where I've hit about an inch behind the ball only to see it come down about 4 or 5 yards ahead of me. Often in real life, this is more dependant on the lie.
Personally, I think they have got it about right. In previous builds it was just a simple go to shot from 60 odd feet, where you could more or less stiff it regularly.
In no way am I saying everything in the new build is perfect and should be left untouched, but I feel they have the majority of things going in the right direction. I'd rather have the game in its current state and work on it, than go back to the build as it was previously, but that's just my take on it as golf-gamer and golfer.

Would it not be easier and more fun just to play live in multiplayer?
Yes, it would be. I work a rotating shift and a lot of times when I'm able to play, there's only 20 to 30 people in the lobby, and I think most of the time they're idle, or asleep. I wouldn't mind playing against a recorded round in an OGT tournament; that would give it a lot more context. I just wish PP would add the "Playing Companion Camera" view to recorded rounds and AI play. I hate watching my opponents play from their swing camera perspective.
It took me over an hour to get a game last night at a stock course, but it was fun and worked as good as multiplayer has ever worked in this game. When the pickins are thin, that's when I can see recorded rounds as a viable option.

Seems you are contradicting yourself according to your earlier post: click here
I also find the 3Click meter "buttery smooth" and faster to respond on the Snap.
I was referring to the snap, so no, I was not contradicting myself.

There's been little mention of the effect on us 3-clickers, so here's my twopennarth...
The increased forgiveness on woods and long irons when missing the sweet spot is welcome, as it was just brutal on 100% shots previously, but the change to the short game seems to have gone too far, I think.
I appreciate the stated aim to remove the routine feeling of the go-to shots around the green but, now, any chip, pitch or flop is something of a lottery. With very similar shots on different holes, missing the sweet spot by a fraction can lead to one not even making the green, and the other skipping miles past the hole. It's like all the previous unforgiving nature on the woods and long irons has been moved to the short game.
I'm not sure about the need to change club distances either, but that's an observation, rather than a complaint.
That echoes my initial observations to a "tee". Well said.

that makes no sense whatsoever axe360.
The ball backspins off the green slowly, hits the fairway and rolls 30 feet on flat ground. how is that like real golf>?

I was golfing on a public course here in CA and a damned bum came out of the woods and tried to give me some tips on my short game. Never know who you'll meet on the links or what strange things may occur...

I think the short game changes make the game more realistic. Scrambling was way too easy and when you see scores of -50 for a tournament where the objective of the developers is to make the most realistic computer golf game available it is obvious there was something wrong. My go to shot around the greens before the update was the pitch and unless it hit a slope it landed and stuck like a flop shot.
It is going to take time to learn the short game but when practicing at Woody's for shots like the chips I have been recording the carry and the roll. When I play real golf I pick a spot where I try to land it and that is what I am trying to figure out for the various shots around the green after the update. Realistic and bumpy greens is an impressive addition to the game and when added to the stimp makes this game unique compared to other computer golf games.
I am having trouble keeping my full shots on line because in my head the tempo (I use RTSM) feels different. It is going to take a lot of swings on the range but thats fine with me. It's winter here and the temperature today is a high of -21C so I am getting my golf fix with JNPG.

If you had said that first off instead of just posting that the game is klunky, it might have garnered a better response.
Any chance you can remember the course, hole, conditions you were using? If it's a possible bug either on the course or in the game, this info will be needed. I would recommend if something like this happens again, save the shot. At least you could then share it with the devs for them to investigate.
There's really no excuse now if folks come across a gameplay anomaly that they can't get evidence of it. Not everyone has video recording software installed, but everyone has the save shot option in the game.
