Thanks Acrilix; I did not know that. Wow... that being the case, there are a lot less people playing this game at any given time than I thought.
Careful JC!
You are starting to head down ADX road there!

Do those stats count refunds as well? That's hard to believe that all those copies have sold yet the average user count barely scrapes 100.
I've never fully delved into the SteamSpy stats page for a product. I'd have to attend a seminar to be able to understand them. For example, it shows that there were 23,967 owners on 1/13/17, then only 21,680 on 1/14/17. How'd they lose over 2,000 owners in one day? Here's a link to the latest stat page if you want to try to decipher it: http://steamspy.com/app/288140

When it goes to the windows 10 version will we still be able to play it on Windows 7 or is it automatically going to upgrade .. ???
Little known fact when King Arthur was trying to make a golf course and he ran into some conflict. King Arthur: There's a peace only to be found on the other side of war. If that war should come I will fight it! Other important fact. Read the Book of John in the Holy Bible.

From what I understand, you will still be able to play the current Steam version, with Windows 7, or any of the other currently compatible OS's, via Steam.

John, anyone playing JNPG online shows in the multiplayer lobby regardless of whether they are playing multiplayer or single player.
Only people currently logged into the lobby chat show up in the lobby.

Concurrent players and total players are not the same thing.

As a side note If you retain 20% of your total player base two years after you went into early access (which we do) you're doing pretty well as most games do not get played at all at that point. It does go to show though that a constantly updated game model does not currently seem to work for the vast majority of games on the the PC / Steam gaming platform.

Can you qualify this please. Vast majority of players of the vast majority of games or just vast majority of games ?
What's the alternative to a constantly updated game ? Once a year ?

Once a year? That would be the Madden, NBA2k, NHL etc.... model.
I mean it is pretty standard in sports gaming. The customer base knows that there is a new game every year. And they pay for it.
With an ongoing development the devs have to discuss every DLC. (remember season pass!?)
If it is clear that we get a new version every year (or every two years) the business model would be clear to all. You can choose if you want to have the new stuff or if you are satisfied with the content the last years version had.

Man, what happened to video golf gaming? Just look at those numbers for both games! I honestly thought it was much more popular than that, but I suppose after a long layoff for not having a "popular" title over the years, it sort of makes sense. For a good stretch of time, all there really was to play was Links and TW. There were other titles, but many did not last long. Links hung on for how many years and apparently, others growing tired of the TW series with each new version after 2008. But then again, maybe it was not so popular after all?

I am just happy that there is a golf game that is being improved and available on PC. I have not had a Madden since 2008- although I do still play it very often with a number of roster/patches to get the best out of it. No NBA Live- still playing 07 with some good roster patches as well or NHL or anything for us poor PC gamers and I'll be damned to hell if I will buy a console to get a newer version of Madden or NBA Live

And what about a new version of JNPG, moving to Windows 10 for the PC?

So if I started JNPG, went into the lobby just to see if there was a game I wanted to play, or see who was in the player list, then left there and played a tournament, I would no longer show up in the player list in the lobby? I ask because I do this quite often and I imagine there are others who do as well.

I'd suggest that your retaining 20% of that player base has a lot to do with your constantly updating the game model. On the other hand, at some point, you're going to reach a peak and start seeing diminishing returns on your investment.

This is true, but as the game automatically logs you in on boot up, everyone online is logged into the chat lobby. You have to manually log out when playing solo rounds in one of the pre-round screens if you want to be removed from the lobby, and how many players do that, see a need to, or even know they can, or how to do it?
There is no option in the settings to disable the log-in and the next time you boot up the game you're logged in again, so apart from a very few in-the-know, paranoid JNPG players, my statement was correct!
