The consensus is that no one really knows for sure if the game is any good until it's released and people have had a chance to play it.

Ok then why post all this speculation rather than waiting for the release. Posting for the sake of posting is senseless IMHO.  Kind of like 'shoulda', 'coulda', 'woulda'.  Discussion for the sake of discussion, no conclusions possible.

Richard - It's a discussion forum...

If a certain conversation bothers you, why not just close the window and let others chat and speculate and enjoy?

For the cost of the 2 golf games why not buy both if you have a good PC , JNPG for PC is a great game and shines above TGC1, for console only have 1 choice ATM that's TGC2 (in a few weeks time) for sure if JNPG comes out on console i would play it more then TGC2 just because it has more to offer. I don't get all this crap about don't buy this because it's rubbish both games are good, some people just have agenda set up to try and influence people NOT because the games are crap but because they have issues with someone connected to the game.

I pre ordered the game and can't wait for it to release. Ill take the time that Steam allows me to figure out weather im going to keep it or return it. Hopefully they fixed the greens so they don't play like glass anymore.

Agree 100%, but some people just can't help themselves..  and the more posts they see, the more they have to defend one game or the other.   Strange if you ask me.

The reason that things are being discussed is because they are releasing videos of TGC2 gameplay.  So as new information arises... we discuss it.  It's not posting for the sake of posting - it's posting to discuss what we've seen, what we know, and what we are wondering about.

That is nearly the very definition and purpose of a forum.

Yea.  Agree.  It's not like these games each cost $200 or something.  TGC2 will be $40.  That's squarely in the impulse buy range for most people.  If it sucks... oh well.

IMo the game will not give me anything superior to what i get with PG, it is a step up from TGC and that may be enough to tempt plenty of potential buyers, just not for me.  Yes i have other reasons for not giving HB my money, the lame excuse they gave for the constant screen tearing that i and many other AMD users experienced that was never remedied, being one reason.  They blamed AMD for not making a driver especially for their game, and basically we were told to buy Nvidia.  disgusting response.  The way they messed with the swing after listening to a few idiots complaining about ball squirt, then when they reverted it back to normal it was straighter and easier than its ever been.  TGC was a much better game in early access than it is now!

I'll probably preorder it next week and spend the three hours deciding if the gameplay is any better or harder than TGC1 if not then I will probably get a refund. As much as I loved the designer in TGC1 I just didn't enjoy playing my courses. What's the point with that?

It's pretty bizarre that they are holding them to the NDA right up until release..

If the game is so great, you'd think you'd want some open mouths to spread the excitement, no?

@MERACE

Did I see that you pre-ordered multiple versions?

You concerned at all about the complete lack of showing/talking about console performance in TGC2 given how it was spotty in TGC1?

Yes Buck you did. I'm a big risk taker. ;) :)

Seriously, I'm walking by faith that what JCauthen & DivotMaker have stated so far about their experiences with the new tempo swing will translate to my experience with TGC2.

The vast majority of my gameplay is on my PS4, but since my recent purchase of a mid spec laptop PC with a dedicated NVidia graphics card I'm able to play TGC and JNPG when I'm away from home.

Unlike you and many others, I still enjoy playing TGC1 even using the mouse on the PC version.

That's precisely why I'd be concerned about the Console versions and no performance information actually.

I think JC himself has mentioned over there that the tempo swing/animation really needs/benefits from  "x amount of FPS" to be a great experience and they've only gone out on a limb and said "we hope to have 30fps on console" as far as I can tell, yeah?

...and I believe all the beta testing and all footage we've seen has been the PC version also

Yikes..
