You'd think the hard stuff, the groundwork, is done. The game plays; it just needs more to reach excellence. The 'more,' in theory, should take less time, and I guess that's a source of frustration.

One could always take out stuff and concentrate on the essence.
I would elaborate but I'm feeling like I can't take another stoning.

I've put several hundred hours into this game already, and would continue playing even if we never got any more enhancements, game content or courses. Not saying that would be a smart commercial move on PP's part, or that those seeking extras would be happy, but with OGT and PGLS tournaments there's plenty of incentive to continue. People played Links for 20 years because, pure game-wise, there was nothing better. Now there is, and here we are. If TGC2 can match or better PG in its core game, then I expect most to jump ship. But until such time...

$40 for a new golf game or $20 to be a proud member of you're club.....Jeeez let me think lol$40 for basically an updated version of TGC? That's a bit much. Minor improvements to graphics. Multiple tees and pins should have been in TGC 1. PG has had these things since day 1. I'll have to give HB props for being able to charge $40 for this update. Staying engaged with their customers on the forum helps.
As for updates to PG, all the new updates/features are being put in the new version of PG. Current version will only get fixes and minor stuff.

I am happy with the game as is, and will continue to play until such time as a new version is released. I have played just about every golf game, that has been released over the years. And nothing so far compares to features offered and fun I have had playing this one.

So you have an issue with paying 40.00 for an updated TGC. But you'll gladly drop that same 40.00 on an updated version of PG eh? What is exactly the groundbreaking feature that PG will have that warrants you to pay them for a new version? Just curious really. Updated graphics, mo cap?

What happens? What happens if TGC2 (or 1.5) really nails it with gameplay improvements? What if it closes the gap with PG? I haven't made up my mind yet about the game. I'll be watching the streams for more information before I decide.
You decide if you want to buy it and play it. Your choice.
If it becomes your go-to golf game, then great.

* Sort of. Yes, it is a new game coming out on 27th June, but I'm sure some folks would argue it is TGC that has seen some updates applied to the lighting, the course designer and the swing by adding a couple of skill levels and new added features like the Societies and player creator. From what I have seen in videos and read on the net, it looks and feels like TGC 1.5, but that is just my opinion.
Having played both TGC1, PG, and now TGC2 extensively, it is not TGC1.5 by any means.
I can't get into specifics, but it is significantly better than TGC1 in many areas.

Play both. Both games have their strengths and weaknesses. Play both and enjoy the different approaches to video game Golf. That is what I will be doing.

With your attitude I for one am happy to see you pay $40 for a new golf game, because I really don't think you would be accepted to "the club".

I guess I'm wondering out loud again. But I like your answer, regardless.
I have the same issue with a lack of time to play one, much less two Golf games.

JNPG Updates are on a pause I'm thinking.. The US Open Championship and The Open Championship (British Open) TV broadcast flyby and course rendering are front and center at this time.

I love video golf games and hated TGC 1 but I just prepaid the $40 for the TGC2 and we will see but even if it was great I still would play both games and keep playing OGT and PGLS as I just like playing video golf. To be honest I hope its half decent and has a good career mode and I would use that to play a career mode and this for events but that is just me. Hey I still play TW14 on my PS3 and enjoy it so hey bring it on just please make the gameplay better than TGC1 as it sucked.

Let me set you straight Stone.
I believe the game is on a knife's edge as far as long-term viability and my perception is that PG2 is so far off that there is no point discussing it or speculating about features. That doesn't mean it's not playable now and it also doesn't mean that I won't play the game. Why would I not stick around?
Perfect Parallel isn't down. What makes you think that? I don't like the term 'kicking' by the way. But I reserve the right to be critical of the company on this forum in regards to Perfect Golf and it seems there are a few others who are becoming more critical the longer this slow pace of development goes. It's not looking good and mine is an honest appraisal.
Do you think it will work?
Hello again Ted,
As always mt posts are simply my point of view. You have many hours devoted to this game. As seen by your hours of play on STEAM for JNPG. You have a sticky at the top of the forums with a whole lot of dedicated work put into them. Your name in these forums and related to Perfect Golf is somewhat prolific. So you will excuse me if I perceive your very negative forum posts, as of late, as a great detriment to any persons previewing the forums for the current state of the game and as a kick in the shins to PP.
Yes I believe that your current posts are unwarranted and cause a lot of damage to a company that in your opinion is on a knife's edge. That is your prerogative as I have pointed out before. Thought you were cool bro...shame I've changed my mind about that.
You can play the martyr all you want as if I threw some stones at you (very witty I must say). I just pointed out the obvious and I cannot help that you did not like my language or analogies. It is what it is. Maybe you just do not want to see it.
What exactly are you trying to set straight about me??? I just call em as I see em, regardless.
No, I do not think your comments will help speed up development. In fact they could have the reverse effect. Again, just MY opinion.
I'm moving on from this forum anyhow. I just popped back in because jmk59 pm'd me with a request I felt I should respond to. I wish everyone good luck here on the forums but they have just turned in a direction I refuse to follow. I'll follow the game and play it and design but I have to respectfully bow out of this...I'm not even sure what to call it.
I can only hope that you appreciate good honest feedback when you see it.
Best Wishes,
SC
