It won't turn off for me

Do you mean that the option won't allow you to toggle DOF to "Off" or do you mean that even when you do toggle it to "Off" that it still stays on?

I can't believe they have no live match play but have a developer defending "playing a ghost" as match play (to say nothing of four ball)

Wow what a mess on TGC2 if live multiplayer is your thing.

Ya, this and other missing multiplayer modes makes it a big dud if it ever comes to simulators.

Yeah, I toggle it off and nothing happens.

A respectable 71.  Are they on the mark?  What would PG get I wonder?

I  posted my comment about the review.  The reviewer  hasn't done any research because he states that there isn't any competition for GC2 so he obviously isn't even aware of JNPG which in my opinion is already a superior golf game even before JNPG2.

I'm staggered that the reviewer actually does that for a living, he lost me when he called the open "the british open"  he never dealt with any of the games components, be them good or bad, and to finish with the no other competition remark just shows the total ignorance of the bloke.  Why harp on about licensing too, any indie sports title will suffer licensing issues, its not even worth mentioning as we all know it.  That review is like me getting paid to throw up on as many people as i can in an 8 hr shift...pathetic.

Still it is a bit telling, that he doesn't even know JNPG. That is one big problem for JNPG. It's not finished yet, but it really has a great foundation based on realism. But if so few people know about it - gamers included - how can it ever get enough sales?

That's the problem - he does it for a living. It's not about accuracy but a balance between rating the game high enough so HB Studios broadcasts the review (and thus reviewer) on all their social media channels, yet not undeservedly high to lose credibility.

I'm part of a group of 8 guys who have been getting together online for the past 5+ years every Fri & Sat nights to play computer golf. Started with Custom Play Golf then when it became World Golf Challenge. We still play that  a lot.

We tried to get into JNPG earlier this year for about a month but even though the Lobby/game choices are great for some reason it doesn't seem as much fun to play. Currently we're going to give TGC2 a go. 4 of us have been playing during the week the past week and yes the multiplayer is convoluted to set up at first and the game choices are limited, for some reason we all feel TGC2 seems more fun to play vs JNPG. Nothing we can really put a definitive reason to, just we enjoy it more.

Nothing against JNPG, I still play it solo and I like the game, but for some reason we're enjoying the multiplayer experience more on TGC2.

Sam

Your post speaks volumes and in my opinion I think the answer is pretty simple, Sam.   Lack of updates, bug fixes, communication, direction of the game, etc.  It has all been said over and over here on the forums and imo, an eye sore.   I personally made the decision to not worry about it any longer and until something better comes along, well..then good bye PG.   I am still waiting on TGC2, reading, watching videos, visiting the forums for fixes, reviews, etc.. however, I am not swayed just yet.

Either way you slice it (no pun intended), whether your are a die hard, middle of the road or casual JNPG player, most can't deny they would like to know what is next for PG.   Until then, guys like you and your friends will and have moved on.   With only one other kid on the block, it is pretty apparent which side of the street they will go to.

I've ended up doing what I knew I would do..... uninstalled TGC2.

I'd like to say it was fun while it lasted, but it wasn't really, as I never felt in control of any swings I was making, even if they came off as ( B) Perfect (D) Perfect.

After 20 minutes on the range earlier, trying to figure out what the swing is actually doing so I can try and give myself a chance out on the course, I'm finding myself getting more and more frustrated and finding no enjoyment in the game.

Repeating the same swing on the controller, just the same pace back and the same pace through, just gives totally different outcomes every shot. The swings I'm making are nowhere near as different as the game seems to make out. There is no un-natural pause in the swing, just  a back and forth motion at what I would deem a standard swing pace for a golf game. It must be me doing something wrong as other folks seem to be able to handle it, but while I'm keeping the swing plane inside the cone the shot readings are all over the place ending up with the ball having a mind of its own as the swing has been determined as B = Slow, D=  Very Slow. Make the same pass with next swing B = Fast, D = Slow. Same again, B = Perfect , D = Very Slow. Then for laughs I added a brief pause between the backswing and downswing and got B = Slow, D = Perfect.

I'll leave it to everyone else to battle with and overcome. If I carry on the controller will be making contact with the bedroom wall at a high velocity.

Back to what I know (and enjoy) - Tour Pro 3C on JNPG.

Thankfully my next PS4 golf experience - Everybody's Golf - will be a 3C control method.

I think I understand the frustration. I play on Player level. Pure silliness for about a week or so. But then yesterday, for whatever reason, it all came together. It almost seemed easy. I shot my first under-par round today. In fact, I actually went into my golfer setup to make sure I hadn't somehow switched to Standard level. The point is, if I can figure it out, anyone can! ;)

Almost 30 hours and its now deleted its horrible the lighting is shocking, ball bounces from the rough onto the fairway.Playing from rough you need to club up 5 clubs. It is a game designed for casual golfers arcade style. Play a ghost round guys hit 100% straight every shot.It is no way near a golf sim.S/W low loft 200 yard shot??? wtf? Straight edgers and zero axis players will like it . Go to the range get your distances sorted with the loft up and down boom game over. Its a dial in game.

Are you saying that getting a par on a 228 yard par 3 after being 55 short off the tee, followed by 12 feet of backspin out of the rough and a 6 foot gimme isn't a golf sim?

Isn't his gameplay from TGC and not TGC2?

Looks like it. And getting out of the deep rough in TGC2 is no gimme either.

There were no physics changes indicated in the changelog I read.
