I disagree. The game is stale for all but the diehards. There has been nothing new on the development front for the current game. There have been a few updates on the new game (thanks Mike, Andrew, and Art) but the pace of development is really slow due to the small size of the Dev Team.

Here’s hoping 2 brings new life and new players to the franchise because the current game is pretty stale, IMO. That is not to say the current game is not good, it just seems the game and Community have reached a place low spot in interest and energy.

The multiplayer lobby shall remain a ghost town because people refuse to listen to simple logic and reason.  PG2 will fare no better with this system in place

kinda hoping when 2 comes along maybe the players have the ability to

set their own tourneys that all in the community could play.

crow sets the monthly now i do believe as a volunteer, now if he had a few volunteers he could work with

to set weekly and daily tourneys that would be so cool and then there would be plenty to do for the solo players.

{implanting idea here}lol

If I knew what to do I might do it. Had plenty of practice running my own Tour with weekly tournaments for 13 years.

Honestly (and this isn't meant as a dig towards you, but simply a statement of fact) you are the only one that seems to have an issue with password protected rounds.  OK - maybe one other guy that's posted so far has a slight issue with it as well, but you're the only one that appears to think it's a bad idea.

So I'd suggest that the Dev team IS actually listening to simple logic and reason.  Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it wrong.

Whose logic and reason? I have seen you question others logic and reason and they have responded with what their logic and reason is.

Everyone gets it that you don't like password protected rounds, but that doesn't seem to be the main reason the online lobby is going down in numbers.

The game is stale right now. IMO, that is the main reason for the downturn in MP lobby numbers.

You've put your finger on what is preventing me from playing the game right now... staleness.  As a Real Time Swing Controller player, the golfer animation feels a bit clunky, and not as proportional to the stick movement as I'd like.  I didn't realize how crucial this is to my enjoyment of a golf game until I played The Golf Club 2.

I'm confident that PG 2 will have a more fluid swing animation, as well as one that's more proportional to the stick motion.  When I factor in the Turf Effects 3D grass and XBox One crossplay ability along with that, I'm pretty sure PG 2 will be making its way back into my play list again, and I'm one who almost exclusively sets up and plays unlocked multiplayer games.

I agree John.  If PG2 does those things then it will be a BEAST of a golf game.  TGC2's fluid, real-time swing interface is really engaging for me personally.  The snippets I've seen of Nvidia's 3D grass in PG2 (which puts to shame anything that we see in TGC2 graphically) coupled with the hope of a fluid, truly real-time swing interface and everything else that is great about PG makes me believe that PG2 has some serious potential.  I just hope that the dev team can realize the full potential of this game.

-stats just like Links 2003
-better avatar with adjustable physical attributes
-3D grass
-ability to hide UI and reactivate by hovering over it (mentioned by someone else)
-much more assets and more pre made plots for CF
-ranked MP

Fair enough but the others who do not like locked rounds left this game to never play again.

To those who are bored and think the game is stale I ask what more can one want?  This is the best golf game ever produced and the gameplay other than the swing meter is excellent.  I cannot get bored with this game because of this.  I do get bored of waiting to play an online round though.

The very reason why I love only multiplayer is because with a voip program and good people the game can never be stale.  Playing alone in a career mode or otherwise does indeed get stale for me real fast!

The game was stale for me in a way but since I have played others I seem to enjoy my fewer rounds of JNPG more.  I am playing Rory and TGC on the Xbox One and I must say TGC plays better on the Xbox One than on PC and playing JNPG and TGC 2 on the PC tho TGC 2 still is not a good gameplay for me.  I play basically the OGT PGA event and PGLS PGA 18 on JNPG and nothing else so for me the 8 rounds a week I am playing there are keeping the staleness away.  It also has shown me what the other games have and surprisingly Rory can be made to be a pretty tough game but it lacks the courses but you have to love the tournament feel.  TGC plays smoother and its a good fool around game and plenty of courses.  JNPG is still my go to and looking forward to JNPG 2 but being addicted to video golf I must get my fix and the Xbox One has don't that but now the question will be do I get JNPG on that format or PC.

Having played both the PC version and Xbox One versions quite a bit, gotta say the PC version stomps a mudhole in the Xbox One version here......

Probably due to I having a GTX760 vs your GTX1080 Ti. It's funny because TGC 2 plays real well on my PC but TGC never did.

I would like to be able to put aside my "resume" round. If I wish to play a multiplayer game against someone else at any given time.

The multiplayer lobby is not a ghost town.  Getting a pick up round @ times is not easy.  But by now most regular multiplayer players have formed small groups to play multiplayer with each day/night.  Also several 3rd party sites offer voice chat and a whole lot more and players do the multiplayer from those sites.

I am sure there are reasons players just want a huge lobby with 1000 players like back it the Links days @ the zone.  Unfortunately those days are long gone just like the zone.  Perfect Golf at least offers a lobby.  Cant say other golf games offer a lobby.  ( Of Note: TGC2.)    I'll take JNPG lobby SYSTEM as it is.   Not ideal for every1's tastes but a lobby at least exist.  Good on you PP.

There's no doubt that JNPG has the best multiplayer interface and options I've ever seen.  TGC 2 is virtually gutted in this category, as it doesn't even have the limited options of its predecessor in this regard.  If you put TGC 2's  swing animations and tempo dependent controller swing interface, even as limited in scope as it is, into JNPG right now, and there's no doubt which game I'd be spending the majority of my golf gaming time with!  The 3D Turf Effects rough and the DirectX 10 lighting will be the icing on the cake, provided they get the new swing animations and interface to the level where the gamer feels multidimensional integration with the process and results.

I hope they focus on a really worthwhile career mode, i have not played PG for quite a few weeks now, have not even touched CF.  TGC 2 lasted all of a week before it was deleted from my library, swing mo cap or not the game is just poor fair, and created by non golfers.

Multiplayer in PG2 will only be of interest if they do indeed include simultaneous play, i don't mind playing H2H but 3's a crowd and 4 is total boredom, so i'm pinning my hopes on a fantastic and editable career mode in PG2, without it i can't see me getting it.

I also really hope there's a career mode in PG2.

I went on a vacation and since being back, I've just got no interest to even fire up the game anymore.
I think it's been about 7 weeks since I've played now.

Hopefully something about PG2 will come around sometime in the rest of this year.

Agreed.

On the other hand, that seems to be the recurring trend anymore, isn't it? Not just here in PG, but as a society in whole: "people refuse to listen to simple logic and reason". Because all people anymore think about is me-me-me, and screw everyone else.
