Mike has stated that there will be asynchronous play in JNPG2.  Can't say if that means the swing will be totally synced but it does offer a glimmer of hope.

For me, this means allowing multiplayer games to be played with all players playing independently and at the same time (like Fast Play was in Links series). Once all players have finished hole in play, game moves to next tee.

I'm sure a fully synced real time swing in JNPG is possible. It just needs the programming knowledge. I'm sure Unity is not holding back this being a possibility. Other games are made using Unity and surely have real time movement synced to a controller.

Which is why we need some kind of definitive answer (from Mike or Andrew) as to what this will mean for the RTS swing sync issue.

Nice system to implement a decent and moddable career mode with real player modding possibility (that could includes real stats taken from real pros with possibility to modify that stats also during the tour to improve realism). Possibility to create a real tour like pga or european tour. Single player vs CPU groups like PGA 2000.

I'm speculating that it's too early to be 'definitive' in most aspects of PG2.

The first thing I noticed between the games was the minimum speed if the ani was much faster in TGC. That might be what attributes to the feeling of less lag as the ani is not 1:1 with controller movement in either game. I can't find the love for TGC's fast tempo swing, with PG I can siwng in pace with the ani creating my own tempo with much more feel controlling the distance. I just don't get that feel with TGC rushed swing.

TGC2's swing is anything but rushed.....in fact, the pace of the swing is slow when it comes to the follow through to impact. It sorely needs an acceleration component for it to feel more like a Golf swing instead of a tempo mechanic.....

Im looking for more h2h games with golfers looking a friendly game fun banter and more players looking fun games as too many playing this are just competive mongers that want to see their name on a leaderboard. With a larger community maybe we can get this but we need more players

I have been saying this since tournaments here started.  I personally will never see the fascination with them.  The real community is in multiplayer although some say otherwise.  Always has been, always will.

One other thing is killing the multiplayer lobby as well, locked games.  Abolish them I say.

Online MP typically makes up 10-15% of the userbase in Golf games.

Not saying that is the number for PG, but online MP is not exclusively the "real community" in any Golf game.

divotmaker where's those numbers coming from, i believe

i would say it is more like only 10/15% of the forum users that use the multiplayer steady.

not the total of all players. most multiplayer people don't even venture to the forums.

a lot of them don't want caught up in forums.

you got to add  Maxie voice chat, this game is so much more fun when you can talk to the people

instead of a messed up chat window. played a round with GB today using steam chat had a fun round even though either one of us did worth a crap. the chat was great and i also learned the guy is an alright joe and fun to play this way. which im sure we will get together again and do.

TBH one of the best things they could do would be put a link to the forums along with a link to the social site on

the game's opening screen.

might just bring more people to the forums instead of having to answer their questions in the lobby chat.

Just a few, while I'm sat here not sleeping as it's too bloody warm.....

  • Hope PG2 can fix the collision detection for 3D objects when the ball is in the roll state, something the current game sadly lacks.
  • Some way of playing a proper punch shot. Currently you have to manage lowering shot-shaper and hitting a 3/4 shot with a long iron but it still doesn't recreate a punch shot appropriately IMO.
  • Better roll out of the ball on low flighted shots. In current game, the ball pulls up far too quickly on the fairway.
  • Slight tweaks to the wind physics, especially at lower speeds, as it doesn't seem to quite have enough impact on ball flight to me and often sees to have no effect on the ball at all.
  • Fat and Thin impact applied for fairway bunker shots. Too easy to play from fairway bunkers in current game.

Well, as a offline player of many years I just started to enjoy online play. -_-  To my surprise setting up a game (matchplay) is not only simple but ... it works like a charm! My past experiences (Links) was such that I gave up online play as there were all these issues with firewalls, ports en routers. But I found out in PG no such thing! Right from the get go it worked and ... keeps on working! :) So, that alone makes me very happy. A real added bonus for me right now.

Now PG2 is on the horizon I guess all the known bugs and bloopers in PG1 will be fixed in PG2?... I'm very happy with the swing mechanics in PG1 (RTS-motion). It works smooth and steady. I'm not clear on this PG1-PG2 situation. Are we going to have 2 games then? Whatever, I do hope that the recorded rounds options will be improved (issues are known to the devs) and that matchplay gameplay will be improved regarding the problems around the 'concede' option and more options must be put in regarding 'giving' strokes etc.

Many improvements are mentioned in this topic so I will not repeat them. I do hope the effect of side hill lies will be improved as right now there is little difference between a flat lie and a side hill lie. Also maybe 2 more hardness option for the greens?

The game is already very very good but is still pretty 'basic' in the gameplay dept. Lot's of tweaking and adding needed. PG2 will have improved lighting and 3d grass among other things, and will be a great visual improvement ofcourse. New Ani's are ofcourse to be expected. Foremost now though, is improving the options and (pre-)gameplay already in place. The carousel works but the issues regarding the alphabetical (dis-)order must be improved. Maybe a new layout will work better.

Also I hope that a full blown manual will be offered (in both versions) were all the options and possibilities will be cataloged and explained for all to read and find out. I think many players are still unaware of some possibilities and options a/o are puzzled about gameplay etc.

To my opinion the first version of the game isn't completed at all..... but then I will probably wait to see what looks like Perfect Golf 2.

- Much betters graphics, roughs 3d...etc etc....

- Multiple avatars with full customisation.

- Career Mode with full customisation.

- Basic commentary.

- Updated Wildlife's around the golf course, make the course more alive.

- More details around the course.

- Have more the feel of Nicklaus in the game, maybe one avatar of a late career Nicklaus with his abilities at that time. Having him saying some of the commentary on the course...

- If possible maybe an option to chose falls colors for the course....

- Stop to release course all the time and work on the game first .....

I must say I am totally disappointed with perfect golf and the progress that has been done for the last 2 years, it's not up to par. The game is not fun to play simply...and If I could.. I would have get a refund... Pictures has been showed... months in advances that never came in the game....

1. Career Mode. Ability to create and edit TOURs (events, courses, rosters,..)

2. Comentators, or the ability to create and edit playlists and sound packs.

3. Better UI, course selection screen, carousel,...

4. More statistics, lots more,...

5. More realistic (and penal) wind effects.

6. More penal and uncertain lie effects, including sidehill lies.
