Windows 7 compatible.

Very true... forgot about that.   Well, I suppose if and when PG2 is released, maybe I will switch over... but from the looks of things, I can safely say that I will be with Win7 for quite some time yet.. ha ha.

A bit tricky making games Win 7 compatible when developers are now using architecture that requires Win 10 as a minimum (such as DX12) etc.

No guarantee's what PP might be doing, as we don't know if there is to be a PG2 and they seem unable to tell us either way.

When you look at the platform agnostic at the bottom of the forums, I think in hindsight PP were a little over optimistic about what PG would be released on, lol.

What?

You guys aren't enjoying the WiiU version of the game?

Personally I think one if the most engaging ways to play is with RTS-WiiU

Well we might not have hit our target of all platforms but at least we did/do support linux which is more than other golf games available did at the time.

Mike is this new look and digital grass and all that very performant?
I noticed at one point trackman specs suggested a pretty beefy GPU as recommended…
Is that kind of to get people ready for the tech specs required for great performance moving forward?

(Pics look great as usual btw)

Put another way…
What GPU would you recommend somebody buy right now/in the next few months in order to be ready for the next version of the game?

Well I'm using a 1080 ti which runs at a locked 60 fps up to 1440p. Turf effects is an area specifc thing so it fades out into the distance as you would expect so performance is excellent on modern cards. When I first ran it using my 5 year old GTX770 turf effects took up nearly 20% of the GPU power whereas with the 1080 it takes up virtually nothing as the latter cards have dedicated chips for things like TurfEffects and Tesselation etc.

We're well into the 4k age now though so to run things at max settings at that res you're going to need some power. At 1080p though a GTX1060 should suffice on most courses even if you get the odd dip below 60fps.

Excellent - thanks for the reply..

I'm personally a 1080 gamer for a while still, simply as a by product of being a couch gamer and finding no need for 4k tv now or anytime soon with my media consumption habits.

One byproduct of that is having such reasonable hardware requirements for gaming  :)

Wonder if they are "Hero" Speedtrees for 4k monitors?

Unity 2018 can handle trees better with "instancing" so you can use a higher resolution tree without crippling results.

However, while these may be slightly higher resolution, a lot of realism is established by the lighting and shader for the materials. I even watch movies differently now and see some models aren't overly detailed but the lighting, fog, color correction and other after effects make something good look great.

It's part of something called the post processing stack. The icing on the cake so to speak.

Pics look amazing..the lighting looks so much more realistic.  Great stuff.

About feature requests..this is a CF issue but the ability to turn the ball grid on and test green smoothness within CF would be welcome.

Just hope those pics aren't the closest we get to PG2, lol.

Nearly look as good as TGC2019.

True, but what is the Linux user base compared to the console user base? ;)

Are you guys working on a console version along with a PC version of PG2?

Don't know if this was asked for, but I would love to see period specific golf attire in the clothing options window. There's nothing like playing a round of golf at St. Andrews or Augusta in knickers and a drivers cap! The teaser pictures look amazing. I have feeling that some classic/real life player made courses are going to be getting a face lift.
